I am currently constructing a coin routine using four coins. For the finale, I want to change these four coins (US Half Dollars) into Mexican Centavos. I know that there are various Silver to Copper effects being marketed, but I was looking for one with a few specific features.

Since this is the conclusion of my routine, I was looking for a silver to copper effect that uses limited movements.

Does an effect of this kind exist?

Thanks in advance,
Alex.

Do you want them to all change at the same time?

Do you want this to happen in a container?

Tell us a little more about your desired effect.

Scotty York's "Midas Touch" sounds like it would fit the bill.

You might want to check out my Twilight Zone Wild Coin from the Knockout COin Magic DVD, or The Merlini Purse routine from my 2004 DVD. Both will be discussed, as well as other copper silver effects, at COIN SEMINAR FOUR on June 10th. Gallo has a couple as well!

There are many good ones out there to choose from.

David Regal's "Simply Wild" from Star Quality is excellent. David gave Mike Rubinstein credit for helping to create this effect.

The one I always perform is from my book and it's called "Foreign Exchange." It uses my Double Helix Change and basic coin moves.

I'm not sure I understand...what specific features?

Do you want them to stay copper? Curtis Kam has something that might work for you (although he uses silver dollars and chinese coins) on his deceptions in paradise video/dvd. It looks nice and he has some interesting thoughts on this sort of transformation. You might want to look it up. (I'm just starting it myself).

I am always a fan of "going back to formula" and seeing what the old masters of magic have written.

I recommend Tarbell I and Modern Coin Magic.

There are some classic coin routines that enable a transition from silver to copper...or copper to silver.

I would encourage you to use Canadian coins in your routine. Nothing says gimmicked coins like having all the coins from another country. Contact Roy Kueppers to have him make up some coins for you. He made up a copper/silver coin and hopping half set for me using toonies and mexican centavos. His address is http://www.roykueppers.com ...great guy to deal with.

Jj sanvert has a nice version on his dvd world champion magic, does'nt fit the bill exactly but I took a lot of moves from this routine and used them in other routines. I'm sure you'd find it helpful. Not to mention it's a beutiful piece of magic. I think it's called flying dolars
