If you want to see a show and whats going on there, take a look at ebay...
if you you want a dvd that teaches certain techniques nothinng out there is worth the money, the courses that are sold with dvds are too expensive... |

On ebay there is myrhhandco for show DVD as well as induction DVD for Dave Elman Induction. He also has a manual for Stage Hypnosis. They are all economically priced. Also hypno2004 has many show DVD's that include the induction as well as the show and he is a good source.

I had a chance to review Don Spencer's How to Hypnotize Anyone, Anytime DVD and would recommend it those interested in or curious about hypnosis. Don is a hypnotherapist who also does stage work.
The video covers a modified Elman, instant inductions, and also includes a candle flame induction he uses on a group of people. Don discusses the rules of the mind, how to form suggestions, and he also covers some safety points regarding hypnosis in the video. He does several demonstrations with different people to show the techniques are actually executed. The demonstrations are entertaining as well as informative. Having said that, the DVD is not all you need to know. The run time is around 1 hour and 40 mins and covers the basics. Consider it a primer or launching point for additional research. I think it does answer a lot of general questions people may have about hypnosis and that is why I recommend it. The video is not specific to stage hypnosis. The demonstrations, however, are done in way that you can see how they could be applied to a stage setting. I think he intended the video for both stage and clinical hypnotists. Additionally, the video is copyrighted 1991 and looks to be a VHS transfer so it's not crystal clear DVD quality (at least the copy I viewed there may be a more recent version). I don't know Don from anything other than this video and his website so some of the more experienced hypnotists may also want to comment. With regard to Spencer's products, there has been a LOT of controversy about his products and shipping policies over on Usenet. His responses over there have been anything but polite, so I would be a little concerned about dealing with him based solely on my observations of his conduct on alt.hypnosis.
As I have said, repeatedly, nothing takes the place of live instruction. A quick search on my posts on that will give the user my reasoning for it. DvDs and CDs are well and fine for adding to a good base knowledge, no question about that, but for a beginner to believe that they can become a master hypnotist from a DVD is simply as silly as saying that someone can become a master magician by buying one DVD on magic. The best first things to do...
have a look at live performances, most of the older hypnotists learned the stuff at this way... |
