Hello all,
I have a gig on New Year's eve for the first time (not my first walkaround gig). I worked as a bartending magician for 2 summers and have a wide repertoire, especially cards. Coins, Sponges, Finger Fazer/Dlite. I am looking for ideas for this special occasion. Here's what I've come up with 1) A time travel card trick (there's a great one on Wilson's new DVD) with add FISM Flash every time I "go back in time" and hit the button on my watch. I plan to use a patter line something like " New Year's is a time to begin again. It's like you can go back in time and straighten out any disorders in your life." 2) Anniversary Waltz 3) Happy Birthday Card Trick (Doc Eason) but Happy New Year and use the Close dodge with the person's name so it would be Happy New Year Tim (or Sara or Eric or...) I can only hope for a spectator named Eve. 4) Williamson's T+R Transpo with a time travel plot and a Finger Fazer for the magic moments. 5) Something with a squeeker or bird warbler. The noises reminds me of noisemakers. 6) Bill to impossible location. I need something good and easily repeatable. More importantly I need a plot that goes along with the New Year's theme. If you like these ideas, email me for my address and send me money. I take credit cards, too. I just don't give them back. OR Better yet put some of your New Year's ideas here. Remember this is walkaround ... not much surface area to work with. Later Joe |

I worked last new year and the one before and what I have noticed is everyone is so drunk they would be impressed with a plastic finger chopper!
If I was you I wouldn't worry too much about the new years theme because new years eve is usually very noisy so I stick to the visual stuff. Hope it all goes well. |

Been there done that.
...think not that all wisdom is in your school. You may have studied other paths, but, it is important to remember that no matter who you are or where you come from, there is always more to learn.

People don't drink to the same extent in the U.S. as us Wesley, and they start at 21 (officially).

Its kind of ironic actually... now that I'm 21... I almost never drink anymore.
