I was just wondering if you guys had any good ways to get the coin in to finger palm or classic palm after doing the Himber Vanish to make the hands look more naturel? What I do is kind of just move my pinky in-ward and that gets the coin into finger tip rest.

If it works for you, fine. Just try different things... like gravity.

If you can get to fingerip rest, the other two concealments are just an adjustment away...

Are you using this for just a vanish or the 2 for 3 count?

I have found that when I use the himber vanish I aim to get the coin into goshman pinch to show the hand empty, then when attention is off get it classic palmed or finger palmed. hope this helps, it is a little knackie.....

Anyone working with the himber 3 for 2 count, I have another way of accomplishing this which for me is a lot easier and just as visual. PM me or post here your email address and I'll send it you.

Assuming you're dropping the coin from the right hand to the left hand, executing the himber vanish and revealing that the coin has vanished from the left.

With that in mind, you can now reach for the 'invisible' coin in your left hand open palm with your right hand thumb and index finger and feint picking it up by it's edges.

As you mime picking it up by its edges, you would release/transfer the coin from your right hand pinkie grip and leave it behind directly into your left hand finger palm. Killing your left hand and then relaxing it as your hands separate to openly diplay the invisible coin with your right hand, you will have effectively shown both hands empty.

You could end by displaying the invisible coin in a vertical spellbound position in your right hand finger tips, reach over with your left hand to place the coin into that position and 'rub' to reveal the reappearance of the coin.

This 'himber put-back' can be be done in one smooth action and look exactly as it should.

For those of you who use the Himber vansh as a 2 as 3 count, check out the PSEUDO HIMBER COUNT in the New York Coin Magic Vol 1 - COINS ACROSS DVD. Its a heck of a lot easier, 100% secure, and very deceptive.

Rubinstein's PSEUDO HIMBER COUNT is WAY,WAY easier and actually looks more deceptive. And the best thing about it, is like Mike said, it is 100% sure fire and no chance of a miss like in the himber count. I got it down after playing with it for only a few minutes. It's the only false count I use for coins now. The coins across dvd is packed full of stuff too. It has like 25 routines with explanations plus tons of bonus material. Lots of fun stuff

If we're plugging versions, I have a surefire version of the Himber click pass and 2 for 3 count on Basic Coin Magic. I end with the coin completely within the hand, from where it is easy to get into classic palm. There's a video demo on the website below...

The bottom line, however, is use whatever works for you...

The Rubinstein's PSEUDO HIMBER COUNT sounds good I might check that out. What routines are used with this sleight?

After doing the placement I just let my RH drop to my side which covers the act of pushing the coin to CP with my pinkie. Then I rub LH with RH fingers and reveal vanish, maybe followed by handwash.

The Pseudo Himber Count mimics the appearance of the Himber count, but uses a completely different method to effectuate the move. It is used specifically in the effect "The Specciolini Brothers" from the COINS ACROSS DVD (available from http://www.newyorkcoinmagic.net ). It does not use the R.O.P.S. move, which is my method of stealing a coin out of an open palm as it is closing into a fist. That move can be found in the Encyclopedia of Coin Sleights DVD, Knockout Coin Magic DVD, LEcture 1986 and Lecture 2004 DVD, Coins Through the Table DVD, all available from my web site.
There is another false count on the COINS ACROSS DVD, called the R.O.P.S. Discrepancy count, that uses a similar ROPS technique to perfrom the move. This count can be done as a two as three or three as four count, and is equally as useful - the use of each just depends on your style. These moves are only found in the COINS ACROSS DVD, and have not been published for the public,( although I did release them earlier to the attendees of the New York Coin Seminars, where they receive unpublished material as part of the package (next one is on June 10th, just outside of Philadelphia - check the website for details). The ROPS Discrepancy count can be found in the Coins Through The Table DVD as well. I hope that helped.

Rubenstein's Open Palm Steal is a good move in his hands. Ask Michael to show you sometime when you meet him. You can learn it from his videos but IMHO it's even more impressive in person.

Much as I would love to see this move in person, unless Michael comes to the North of England any time soon, I think I'd better get the DVD!

Sounds promising then, I have never got on with the ROPS move at all and in my hands
I imbue it with zero deceptive qualities. It's much harder than a retention vanish in my opinion, so if an "easier Himber count" was based on ROPS I'd rather stick with the Himber count.
