I'm having difficulty with finger movement on this vanish. As my second finger moves over the coin it creates a very visible gap between it and my first finger [I have slim fingers, which doesn't help!]

I've been looking at "Coin Magic" by Kauffman, and also have Apollo Robbins on DVD demonstrating the move, so you would think I would get it...

Any pointers? Or is it just a case of more practice [which I'll be doing anyway]...

Hard to tell exactly from the way you've described it, but it sounds like a combination of practice and timing (when closing the other hand around the coin). Trying to be careful here... this is a conversation that could easily go in a direction better suited for the banquet room.
