It's been said that the sword is one of the most useful balloons you can twist. But, I'm thinking that there would be a lot of parents who would not want their child to get a sword an I don't want the kids to start fighting. Alright, so I think I'll just not make swords, but what about all the kids that want swords and the parents that don't have a problem with swords? Any other thoughts on the topic of making swords?

Tell them you "do not make weapons of air mass distruction" (learnt that yesterday) I was doing balloons for a friend and he does not make weapons so I follwed his rules and said that quote about 50 times

Just ask the parents, if they say it's ok then do it.

As I said in the other sword thread, use the old techinique of redirecting their focus. Why would someone want a sword when they could be dressed up as Doctor Octopus?

Magical Odyssey was with me on the 6th. I had one mom actually belittle another clown about making swords (at an event somewhere else). I actually felt a little uncomfortable when she said that and didn't know what to say to it.

He child had said "I want a sword"

I said the line about no weapons of air mass destruction. Got a laugh.

She then went to say to her son how that other person was a bad clown. I think I was right in not responding at all. But I did not want to make others around think I was badmouthing someone else. Kinda awkward.

I usually don't take requests as I make funky hats and costuming out of balloons and try to make a variety. Most people/children just ask "can I get a balloon" and then I exceed their expectations by making something really fun and exciting.

Thank-you all for your input! I'll just make sure parents know that but I don't want the kids to be unhappy and I don't want them crying to their parents that I didn't make them what they asked for (then causing parents to be unhappy).
