Food for thought
Is the place where I belong, because this is one of the few places at the Café where the art of magic can be discussed. I tried to bring up the subject of talent at another places at the Café (that I won't mention) and I was gang tackled, and told that I didn't get it, but here at "food for thought" there is a stronger spirit of professionalism where one can think outside of the box, and not be just like everybody else. I think it's because no one would ever disagree with Bill, or Whit. This is truly an oasis where one can be both artist, and business man.

Excuse me I meant to say Bill, Whit, and of course the outspoken and wise Doug Higley.

I must disagree with that. Smile

Seriously, it's not about agreeing or disagreeing. All of us have different points of view. By airing them here all of us learn. We reexamine our positions about certain things.

We also can see how silly some of our assumptions are -- and I include mine in that.

That was an extremely insignificant addition to those other two...but hey...free beer is a free beer. Whit's buyin'.

Once you're in with this mob...we track down those who may have cast an ass-persian and undue tackle in your direction and Grammerfy 'em. You're in good company.

Too bad he didn't include "The Magicyane's Tale."

Guess they forgot to tell Bill Buckley.

Free beer tastes better.

I hear you Al. Food for Thought is my favorite hang out.

Now if we could get the others to take it more seriously... Smile
Will you walk into my parlour? said the Spider to the Fly,
Tis the prettiest little parlour that ever you did spy;
The way into my parlour is up a winding stair,
And I've a many curious things to show when you are there.

Oh no, no, said the little Fly, to ask me is in vain,
For who goes up your winding stair
-can ne'er come down again.

It's ALWAYS the others. When will they even learn?? If you want to do things right, you have to do it yourself. So the plan is: get drunk, hang out here and talk crap. Hey, that's just like magic!

If there is one person here I like arguing with it is Whit. I never win but it’s the way he outwits me that is fun.
If there is a single truth about Magic, it is that nothing on earth so efficiently evades it.

You are a true gentleman, Tommy. It is always a pleasure to talk to you. The subject itself, or the fun of words always seems to drive you-never ego or competition. It is a rare and good thing.

Cheers!

Good Post Al, I think the food for thought section has done wonders for my magical education.

Recently, some of the threads have become heated debates! I hope everyone continues to speak their mind without fear of being judged.

I hope no one takes things too personally or feels hurt or insulted. All of this talk is in the spirit of improving the art of magic.

Thanks
