Personally, I love the shuffling approach in Rain Man, and sometimes the Control the Chaos approach from Mnemonica.
BTW, two great Shufflebored presentations I haven't seen mentioned are Pete Studebaker's Chain Letter and Little Bunny's Card Trick (Bill Goldman). Quote:

Little Bunny's Card Trick is great!

Hummer's Exclusion Principle and Aronson's Cancellation Principle are actually one and the same. Simon discovered the Cancellation Principle independently of Hummer, and only discovered later that Hummer's idea had proceeded his. BTW, has anyone else played with the ShuffleBored procedure as the mixing procedure for Bob Cassidy's Memorized Deck routine from the Mental Miracles DVD? |

Jeff Haven't tried this, is there a printed version of the Cassidy Memorized Deck routine? I have used 'Wait Until Dark' and found it exceptional! What I did was combine WUD with 'Prediction Shuffle-bored,' by Alain Nu and Simon Aronson with Aronson Stack, to make a knockout closer to my memdeck routine. |

Bob Cassidy's Card Memory routine can be found in his book "Art of Mentalism".

Harry Lorayne has a great impromptu effect in his book Trendsetters called "The Equalizer" which used the same concept from Shufflebored in a way that allows you to perform with a shuffled deck.

"Random Sample Shuffle Bored" is the version with the Ali Bongo suggestion of multiple folded predictions. This is also by Simon Aronson, and printed in Aug. 2003 in Magic Magazine.

This is too good to be a card trick!
I don't know anything could possibly follow this card miracle! Thanks Simon! I first learnt this from the Magic Magazine, and using the same booklet till now. It kills everyone!

Ali Bongo's version wasn't called that when I first saw it in some lecture notes for a Leeds convention eons ago, but cannot find the notes to give an exact date, well over 15 years ago.
THe multiple, unfolding prediction of Ali's is a great idea, and he was certainly the first to add that. I used to give the paper away, which had my contact details in small print at the bottom of one side. Wait Until Dark is a piece of brilliance too, but even better if instead of having a prediction for the last card, you have the person think of it and read his mind. In fact I don't know why I'm telling you this it's too good to spread around... Paul. |

I have used several versions of Shuffle Bored over the years including the Bannon variation. Having seen the Aronson DVDs I can say that in my opinion 'Random Sample Shuffle Bored' is the definative version. The way the prediction is folded sets it apart from other versions. I can't believe no one has mentioned that 'Random Sample Shuffle Bored' sets directly from Aronson Stack. I ALWAYS use RSSB as a closer for my memorised deck set.

From my experience using the WUD business "Card of Mystery" has a bigger impact as a prediction, than the printed flyer. And it comes right from the Aronson Stack. |

I like the Alain Nu, Simon Aronson Prediction Shuffle bored explained on Simon's Web Site because it starts with the deck in Aronson Stack. So, you can get into it after doing other mem deck effects.
I've changed the handling for it a little and the details are available for free on my web site. Just click the link below and then go the the memorized deck section and open up article 18. Dennis Loomis

To Joshua,
There are a lot of little touches and things you can put into it, but as far as presentation, I think that Paul Green's version based on the TV show Jeopardy is the way to go. At least it plays very well for me. This is a great trick no matter the origins. It's a commercial routine for those working "In the Trenches." https://loomismagic.com/item1076.htm Dennis Loomis
