Well you can find out information by going directly to the SAM national website at http://www.magicsam.com. There you can get information about starting your own assembly as well as contacts of which you can e-mail. You can also search to see where the nearest assembly is to your immediate area.

Hi Eric,
Are you in College Park, Maryland? If so, you'll want to get in touch with Regional Vice President Phil Milstead, who'll be happy to give you all the details on starting an Assembly in your area. Email him here: plm6569sam@verizon.net Best, Neil P.S. Wow, Kyle, you're a fast one!

To be a bit more definitive, it only takes ten members to create an assembly, as long as there is not one already in the area. All the members that form the new assembly become Charter Members. Each of their names is on the Charter Certificate issued for your new Assembly, you also choose a name for the Assembly and that too appears on the Charter. These are presented each year at the SAM National Convention, and all National Council Officers and Past Presidents sign them. Many new assemblies are so proud of being chartered; they quite often attend the Convention together, or send a representative to accept their new Charter. This is great photo opportunity also, and great picture to submit to MUM for your monthly Assembly news. Each Assembly is represented in MUM within the monthly Assembly report section. But all it takes to do it is 10 members, and if you need the applications for new members, and a charter application, one of us can handle that for you very easily.
