Don't sulk, Sal. No one was trying to hurt your feelings.

Do any of these experts have any experience, in money games, using the moves they demonstrate.

Your addressing Mook as "Sal" is brutally ignorant ! ... and your back handed comment that "No one was trying to hurt your feelings ." was clearly designed as a shot . Besides being rude , you are just plain wrong .

Mook likes Sal's work, and whenever he says anything positive about them he's going to be accused of actually being Sal. Don't let it get to you Dowser.

I've never met Sal, Malek or Forte. This is my real name and my opinion is completely unbiased. Sal's video is the best work to come out since GPS for magicians interested in gambling technique. No doubt in my mind.
be well,

Chill guys, I think everyones work that's been released has had something to share even though it might have been released elsewhere before...

Assuming I'm one of the ''guys" being asked to "chill" , I will point out that my comment had nothing to do with the value of anyones offering . ... But since you brought it up , I must sleightly disagree with your comment that " everyones work...has had something to share..." . With the recent boom in popularity of poker, gambling, magic etc , there is a lot of cheap crap (or how do you say?... "New Tripe" ) out there . Although I have involved myself in heated discussions on the merits of both David Maleks and Sal Piacente's dvd's , I consider both to be among the solid offerings on cheating available to the public and to our fraternity. As I've mentioned in the past I am personally more impressed with Sals set of dvd's but I still don't think either Sal's or David's work even aprroaches the decades old 4-tape set made by a guy known as Steve Forte ....and even at this late date, the author of a book published more than a hundred years ago is still the reigning champ! Why is this so ? (Some will say it isn't so but I beg to differ.)

Hi Dowser,

There is one problem with Steve Forte's offering in my opinion and that is clarity. When watching Steve there is a high octane professional Las Vegas style dealing speed and sizzle to the moves. A lot is happening in a fast, deceptive and condensed way. Being a card nut myself and being prepared to slow everthing down and spend a lot of time absorbing and working out the moves etc is great if you are into this sort of thing. BUT, the purpose of the DVD's is to educate and show in a measured way the means of cheating so that the veiwer/poker player, many of whom may be new to these scams can process and take something useful away with them. I have not seen David Malek's work yet but I have been all over Sal's DVD's like a cheap suit. There is material in the DVD's that is new and not in GPS. Also, Sal is very thorough and he takes the viewer slowly, step by step through the jungle of cheating moves. Obviously he is not performing with the incredible speed, dexterity, smoothness and deceptiveness of a Steve Forte....but who else would?. He is teaching and holding his own both technically and in an informing and highly proficiant, digestible way. I think these DVD's hold up well to GPS and are in some ways better and clearer in imparting useful information to the poker player in a manageable way. Just my few cents.

Regards,

Paul H

I think Sal has a slow natural rhythm. If he did things fast it would not suit him. Some people are just naturally fast, they talk and move fast etc. Anyway Paul I have meaning to get these DVDs thanks for the tip.
If there is a single truth about Magic, it is that nothing on earth so efficiently evades it.

Hey Dowser, when I was asking the guys to chill, it wasnt directly at anyone in particular, I was just saying that to prevent this thread from being a bash fest... Im assuming the comments were based on watching the demo and not watching the dvd in full.. that's why I was saying everyone has something to share evn if its been shared before...

No hard feelings buddy , I guess sometimes I'm a little slow myself .
Paul : Thanks for your response to my comments and I highly respect your opinion . Please don't think mine differs from yours too much . I won't repeat myself but if you read my posts in other threads about the new material and the quality of Sal's dvd's you will know what I really mean (these dvd's are a must have!) . I wouldn't say what I said in this thread if I didn't think Sal would agree with me about Steve's work . Sal's crossing the border today to work with our surv' staff so I will ask him tonight .

Doc : Actually I meant to say "pardon me Doc, but if I you don't mind, I would appreciate if you didn't have any soup....please! " ... since the first version sounds too much like I could actually catch you .

If my comments towards Doc seem out of place in this thread it is because they are....they were meant to be posted in the thread called "surveillance" . I added them to my response in this thread by accident and apologize to anyone who is wondering what the #ell I was talking about.

Mr. Dowser you didn't offend me at all, I'll guess I'll have to eat some where else. I like that joke anyway.
