I also recommend jacketless topit in suspended dimension by kevin james and silvester the jester , great tool that can replace the topit for those jacketless performers.

To the folks who asked about Cellini's Topit pattern, It is my understanding, that is only available at his lectures.
And it is totally separate from his lecture notes. BroDavid

Hey Guys,
I've used the Cloutier pattern for years... However, I've recently lost a ton of weight and no longer need one of my jackets. It's a size 42, the brand it DKNY, and it's a very dark blue linen. The topit is sewn in, but I didn't have the access pocket made (just bring it to a tailor and have them cut and hem a hole in the pocket). That's how new this jacket is; only wore it a couple of times to test out the topit. To give you all an idea, I'm a size 39 now. I don't think I'll ever fit into the jacket again, so I'll entertain any offers for it. (I'll sell it cheap, but remember, it's a designer jacket). |

I use Jay Scott Berry's Topit system, and I love it! He travels with Lisa Richards, IMO the best magical tailor in the world. Her work with topits, pocket slits, sleeve pockets, and custom costumes is nothing short of incredible. The work she did on my coat is impeccable. Jay sells the topit sets and the DVD at http://www.jayscottberry.com. You can (and should) contact Lisa Richards at http://www.sewmagical.com.

Jay Scott Berry's topit is the only design the works well for guys with larger girths. I actually lost a bit of weight recently, but every big guy I know has had problems with other topit designs. It will work for just about everybody! |

I've only tried my topit, which is a cheapy, a couple of times and I just can't get it to be there for me when I need to deposit something in it.
I seemed to be having a problem with it closing, I guess is the best way top put it. Could it be the way I had it pinned in my jacket? -R

Hey bkow,
You'd be pleased to know that many a thief use topits ("web") to switch out pieces of jewelry and other items. When used correctly, it works really well close-up. |

Thanks procyonrising. I knew about the origin of the topit, but not whether it held up well in close up. I appreciate the input.

For Lisa Richards try: http://www.sewmagical.com/topits.html
I haven't worked with Topits yet, but am very interested. I've been reading the boards trying to decide between Ammar, Jay Scott Berry, and Cloutier. I'll probably go with Ammar first, and depending on my success there, possibly try Jay's. If anyone has worked with more than one topit pattern, I'd love to hear pros and cons. Also, Sylvester's Jacketless Topit sounds interesting for those times when a jacket is a little too formal, or weather doesn't permit. Thanks! Kevin
