If you have been to any KIDabra Conference, "What is the Best Thing You Learned at the KIDabra Conference?"

I have been asked this question for an upcoming article in the MAGIC magazine and also it was requested to ask others this same question. As you know, the KIDabra Conference is a learning environment, where attendees learn so much. We would like to know what stands as the best thing you learned. To me this is a tough question.

"What is the Best Thing You Learned at the KIDabra Conference?"

This is really a tough question because I've learned great advice from every professional children entertainer I've come in contact with at KIDabra! On a broad scale, the Marketing Days stand out as the best learning experience to sell your shows. It's the practical approach the full timers have been using for years. It works for them and it works for me! The best thing I learned was the importance of the Daycare/Preschool market, which I ignored for the past 40 years. They are easy and just as much fun as the schools show market. They also lead into many other markets such as birthday parties, new school shows, and a variety of other events.

I've been asked to describe the KIDabra Conference ... you really can't, it has to be experienced! To me, it the Disney World for children entertainers.

What is the best thing I've learned at KIDabra? You might as well ask me to choose a favorite from among my children. My first visit to KIDabra taught me countless ways to do the one thing I enjoy most in life...entertaining families with laughter. Not so much the entertaining part, mind you. Rather, it awakened within me the ability and confidence to increase my self-supporting income doing the one thing I am most passionate about. During that year following my first KIDabra I saw my performance income literally double...without the ludicrous "Make Millions as a Magician!!" B.S.. Real, tested, work-for-everyone ideas that required work, perserverence and thought.

KIDabra also taught me the value of maintaining a network of nonjudgemental, supportive peers and friends within my entertainment passion. Thanks to KIDabra, I have knowledgeable, experienced and caring peers to turn to when I have a problem or concern. I can brainstorm an idea or problem with top-notch, like-minded individuals who share my passion for professional excellence and growth. Answers are never more than a phone call away!

Overall, KIDabra, for me, translates into confidence and self-awareness as a performer. It equates to professional experience and growth. It is much, much more than a group of men and women spending a weekend in a fancy hotel flagging each other down to show off their latest finger flick card trick or haunting the dealer's tables for the latest "Gotta Have" gimmick. KIDabra is money in my pocket and an escorted path to a dream. What could be better?

I received this email from Rob Erdmann and I thought I'd share it with you....

What is the best thing I learned at KIDabra?

First of all, last year was the first time I attended KIdabra. As of last August I had never performed for anyone other than close family and friends. I've now done as many as four shows in a weekend. I have two shows this coming weekend and will be on TV for the first time on Sunday. WOW. I even have a booth in the dealers room at KIDabra this year offering my professional photography skills. Hmm, What is the best thing?

I learned so much last year it is hard to pick out just one thing. But if I had to pick one thing, I would say that the best thing I learned at KIDabra is that there are a lot of people who have walked in the footsteps I now find myself in, and they are at KIDabra. They were all offering advise, friendship and encouragement. Everyone was there to learn and help each other improve their acts. What was the best thing I learned at KIDabra? The people at KIDabra are the best!!!
