Always in my shows:
1.Start with thimble routine, they are covered with bandaids that multiply, disappear, end up with one giant one on my thumb and then end up with a giant bandaid on my forehead. 2.Cakepan, ingredients turning into dove then into suckers 3.Balloon to rabbit |

Hi all
Personally I like to go with more 'adult' stuff. Even with the younger kids. My establisher is always needle through arm, then a mixture (in no particular order) of. 1. Razor blade eating 2. Lying on glass, followed by having the birthday boy/girl standing on me with a chosen friend. 3. Thread from stomach They love it! Though the parents sometimes get funny looks on their faces. Merry Christmas! Duncan

I really hope you don't do this for kids' shows! They will try it themselves.
Nothing of the same will bring any change, take action today!

My top three children's party magic tricks were supposed to be a Christmas joke. And it seems only one person bit, and even he wasn't too convinced. OK... just to clarify, I DON'T do the above at children's parties. In fact I don't even perform at children's parties! Hehe... Have fun. Duncan

My top three effects would be:
B/W clown silk to colour clown silk Rabbit production (box) And my all time favourite used to be Colouring Book until recently, because here in the UK, shops have started selling it to kids in a small size. So I dropped it from my show. Best Wishes, Graeme (Billy Whizz) |

My 3 favourite tricks would be:
Stick the production by the birthday kid of their own little present on the end and you've got a good 1-hour show.
Yours Funfully

1. Color Changing Flowers -- I begin with one green household duster in my hand (with two others tucked through my belt behind my back). I put the "Flower" behind my back, bring it back out with the other hand, and it has magically changed colors! (I know, you're amazed already, aren't you?).
After doing it again, the young kids start screaming out "Turn around!" At that point I begin the usual comedy piece of turning the duster around in my hands, then back the other way, etc. Finally I do turn around, look behind me, and say "No, there's nothing hidden behind me!" Of course, they all see the other dusters tucked in my pants. Makes for a great laugh, a good opener, and gets the kids involved right from the beginning. 2. Coloring Book - 'nuff said. 3. Making Candy (with chick pan) Brian |

Well not to be different but I have so many routines that I like I could not mention them all. I really refuse to present any routine unless it is different, fun and gets a good response. Those are the only routines that stay in the show.

I use the wilting flower as a warm up (Ginn),
1. Scissors Cut And Restored Rope (my version of cut and restored rope using giant clown scissors) 2. PomPom Pole (professional version...large) 3. I always end my show with Sammy Smith's "Puff the Magic Rabbit" routine (puppet). Dan |

Puff the magic rabbit is a wonderful routine that plays so well for the younger kids. They really get into it and it is a funny bit of business.
Have you ever seen the rabbit and hat puppets that were once made by John Domalewski of New Jersey? They were oversized, colorful and very well made. I am not sure he makes them any more, but they were a very high-quality product that worked quite well for the routine you mentioned.
