I thought I would start a thread to get ideas on a fun and easy way we can identify any Magic Café members who will be attending the convention in Louisville in July. I know many of us attend but a lot of times we do not get a chance to say hello or talk with each other because we may not recognize each other from our avatars or Café names.
I thought it would be a fun and great way of figuring out some way of identifying that we are a Café member so that we can meet and greet each other more easily. Every convention person must wear a badge at all times. Perhaps there is some way of just writing in Magic Café Member or something on your name badge so others can see it easily. I am open to suggestions but thought I would throw this out there as an idea if others thought it might be something worth doing. Kyle

Some of the badges are color coded at the convention for purposes of seating at certain events. That may not be the best way but is certainly something to think about. I was thinking some fairly simple that anyone could do themselves to distinguish. The color idea is nice but I think it might get confused with the color badges already being used. Thanks for the idea.
Maybe it is as easy as writing in pen Magic Café Member underneath your name? Simple idea but would certainly work. Kyle

Simple, a little sticker with a coffee cup or a facimile of the Magic Café Logo. Leave them on bulletin board by Registration, or on Registration counter.

Craig, I like your idea. Simple and to the point. It would be interesting to see how many Café members show up to the convention.

I also like that idea and think it could work out great. We would just have to see about getting stickers made up of some sort so we can have them at registration or on the board near it. That is a wonderful idea and hopefully we can make it happen.

I can make them, I have 1" x1.5" barcode label sheets that are perfect, can run through color laser printer. Kyle, just remind me a week before and I will print and pack up a bunch, or can print them now and mail to you. I have so many things to do for that event, probably would forget. But printing them is easy.

Tell you what Craig. If it is of any help to you, I can make the design up and send you the artwork already set for you. I was thinking of just recreating the Magic Café Logo used on the site and possibly say "Proud Member of" on the top or something of that sort. Whatever artwork you think would look the best as an identifier, I can set up for you and send you over the artwork to size. Then you can just print them out and I can handle putting something at the registration desk etc. It would not be a problem at all. Just let me know what size you want the finished design to be so that I can design it accordingly. Whatever help you need for this, just let me know. I think it would be a great solution and allow folks to identify each other.

No problem. I can do that tonight for you. It probably will already look like what you may have already done, but at least this way you have yours plus mine you can choose from and use whichever works and looks the best. Not a problem at all. Thanks Craig and I will get that to you as soon as I can.

Craig,
I was able to get a design done quickly here at work before I started my other client design work. Let me send over the JPG file to you and see what you think. It should work out ok for our needs and be a great way for Café folks to identify each other. Kyle

Done. Magic Café Members look for the Magic Café Member Stickers at the SAM Convention Registration Booth in Louisville, and also on the Bulletin Board beside the Convention Registration booth when it is closed.

Sounds great. Thanks Craig for helping me get this done and coming up with a great way to let Café members identify each other at the convention. Any Café members who are planning on attending, please get a sticker and adhere it to your name badge. Thanks everyone and hope to meet many of you in Louisville.

No problem Craig. You make up 500 Fez's and we will be all set. =) Just make mine green and I want the logo in real neon. =)
Thanks Kipp. The real thanks goes to Craig for the sticker idea and for being able to print up the design I did. They will be made available at the registration booth as well as on the board near the booth for Café members to peel off and apply to their name badge. I look forward to meeting you Kipp. Just look for my Magic Café sticker. =) Kyle

They have been sent mail. I'll call Nielsen regarding 500 Fez Egg Bags, more appropriate. Maybe I can get a deal.

People should write their sn's on the sticker... Just a suggestion so that we know people are not only members, but who they are because some sn's aren't very revealing as to who each of us are. Can't wait!
