Reminds me of the long-time bachelor at a dinner party who was asked why he never married. "Oh," he said, "I was looking for the perfect woman." "And you never found her?" he was asked. "Oh, but I did," he said; "trouble was, she was looking for the perfect man." cheers, Peter (the perfect) Marucci showtimecol@aol.com |

I study Ba Qua which is a very exotic and direct form of kung-fu. I also collect and read about anything Disney. I'm also known to do a trick here and there.

What else do I do? Heck, I barely have time to get any Magic in!
I’m an independent writer by trade so most of my time is spent racing deadlines. I’m also in the Dean Ornish Program for the Reversal of Heart Disease (had a quadrupal bypass 3 years ago and a couple angioplasties since, and I refuse to put up with any more such nonsense thank you veddy much!) and that takes up a lot of time with stress management stuff and shopping for and cooking the vegetarian ultra-low fat diet (and yes, the food is really good!) I work out at the gym several times a week where the treadmill is where I get most of my reading-for-pleasure done. Bigtime Terry Pratchett fan -- I consider him the finest satirist writing today. Somehow I manage to work in a lot of online time visiting with friends -- often during the waiting periods as I work. I also take frequent short breaks to see what’s going on in forums like this. That’s my life, and welcome to it. |

Hi,
I enjoy movies, expanding my education, and music most of which I have to get from the U.S.A. as I am into - Phish, Primus, Red hot chili peppers, Ben Harper, Dave Mathews and Rusted Root most of which are not available over here in the U.K. Oh Praise to the internet! phillip |

I can’t believe how many magicians played or still play guitar professionally. I originally picked up passes, shuffles, and flourishes to keep my fingers nimble when I didn’t have a guitar handy.

Many magicians seem to be involved in music to one degree or another. I’ve never played professionally, but I have played guitar for about 22 years (just rhythm). Then I took voice lessons so I would have a reason to play
I use these talents mostly in my church. In fact that’s where most of my extra curricular time is invested. (But that’s a whole other story) However, it was someone at my church who renewed my interest in magic about 3 years ago. They wanted about 10 minutes of magic for a Halloween alternative party. So, I dusted off the props and "Ouch! What was that?" Just the magic bug biting. Scott

Well, to keep a trend a trend, I’m a musician. I play bass for a Belgian rock band, called K’s Choice. I am American, and live in St. Louis. Any other St. Louians out there? I get to play all over the world and meet SOOO many great people (just lucky, I guess). I have quite a few international magic friends (all of whom I learn from, and who claim to learn from me. I think they’re just being polite). I’ve been playing music for more than 20 years, and I love it.
I also do some juggling. I even got to do a little set, in front of 10,000 people, during one of our concerts. I was sweating bullets. All was fine, though. My beautiful wife and I, have a new son and he is the greatest of my accomplishments (that and getting my wife to marry me). I have loved magic my whole life, and it never ceases to mystify me. I’ll always be a little kid. Happy holidays to everyone and

Outside of mentalism and magic, I work as a sound engineer and designer for theatre (and occasionally TV, radio, and concerts, but theatre’s my true love).
I also play saxophone (soprano and alto), although mostly for my own enjoyment recently. I’d love to at least play in the orchestra for a show or two at school, but I’m always busy working as a designer or engineer

I play the guitar. I was one of the lame ones (sorry), who just does chords over and over, just strumming, but now I'm trying to get more experience, learning riffs and such.
I listen to music a lot. Punk bands. None of this mainstream MTV stuff, which is fine. |

Here's what I'm up to:
I finished my a-levels in England in June of 2001. I am now spending a year in a school over here in the States. When I come back, I'll be continuing my theatre and english studies at Aberystwyth University in Wales. I, too, play the guitar. I play the piano. I spend too much time writing songs. I spend too much time writing generally. I play tennis. I act (to some extent). I am currently directing one of my plays. (anyone close to Mcpherson county, Ks, let me know and I'll give you details of the dates & venues.) I am a semi-amateur cartoonist. I love magic. I have been doing it for as long as I can remember, but only turned serious this last year. I am currently having a debate with myself over where my true love lies, so to speak. Oh, I also recently bought myself a wooden saxophone. On it, I can play the first line of 'somewhere over the rainbow.' I can play 'Amazing Grace' and 'Happy Birthday.' I'm so proud of myself. Just call me "Mr Wooden Saxophonist" Thank you very much. regards, Mr Wooden Saxophonist

Like Simon, I am a puppeteer. I write my own puppet scripts, and I write my own patter for my magic.
I am a reader, and like someone else mentioned (forgive me, but I forgot who) I think Stephen King is just about the ultimate novelist. I have at least one copy (paper back only, they’re cheaper, lol) of every book he has written, even those of the "Bachman" period. I like watching football, but I can’t play anymore (too fat, and too old, can’t take those "thumps" like I used to) and I like NASCAR Racing. Similar to another poster above, who mourned when the great Charles Schultz passed, I mourned when Dale Earnhardt passed. I cried (a grown man crying?) when the terrorists hit the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, and I cried again when the "rescue" efforts became "recovery" efforts. I like video games, though I have only this computer and a very old Nintendo to play them on. Pete |

Ichazod:
Monkeys? In what form? Anyways, my hobbies include camping, canoeing, fishing, whitewater rafting, sports (attending, mainly, and it's baseball, basketball and football), theater, and music--rock and roll. Specifically, "classic," alternative and "modern" guitar-based rock. And I, too, am a Kiss fan. I also wrote about rock and roll for The Washington Times for 10 years, from 1985 to 1995, and during that time I interviewed Gene Simmons (on the phone) and I interviewed Paul Stanley (also on the phone). I saw Kiss at least six times and I met them once at the old Baltimore rock club Hammerjack's when they did an autograph signing appearance. I also got Ace Frehley's autograph once after an Ace Frehley solo show, also at Hammerjack's. I'm also on the Board of Directors for a dance troupe in D.C. and am an adult volunteer with the Boy Scouts. --Matt. |
