I'm curious how all of you carry you're working coins around. Not being a highly paid pro or a cable tv performer with myriads of assistants and trick photography at my disposal, I need to lug my coins around myself. We're usually talking halves here, but some of them have some interesting attributes and could be subject to damage or exposure issues.
Stuffing a sh*ll in my jeans pocket seems a marvelously horrible idea, but putting several coins in a vest pocket leaves the danger of them falling out too. Besides, I'm not often found wearing a suit these days. I was looking for a small vintage-looking coin purse, but I haven't found one I like yet. A zippered pink coin purse doesn't seem to suit me. I've looked at more modern, traditional looking coin purses, but the ones I've found seem a bit big. Darn near a small ladies purse. In my part of Texas, men don't often carry ladies' purses. At least not in the venues I frequent. Anyway, just curious if there suggestions and what and where to get something appropriate. Thanks for the help... BooRadley |

This was the solution I was going to get:
http://www.roykueppers.com/kuepperskeepers.html But I ended up just buying a six-pocket plastic credit card insert from a Dollar Store that simply fits in my wallet. It doesn't allow for on the spot impromptu, but it keeps them safe in a compact package, keeps them from banging against each other, and it only takes a minute alone to take them out and load them into my hold-out system.

I use two of theses:
http://www.magiclegends.com/product1074.html A small one for more looking coins (dimes, pennies quarters, etc.) A larger one for bigger coins. How about a squeeze purse? http://www.handiworks.com/pd_rubber.cfm I also have a couple of leather purses that have a frame matches this: http://www.magic.org/store/product_info.php?products_id=241 |

Actually, I have a new coin purse coming out. I think you will find it quite useful. It has a couple of neat properties that you will find quite valuable. For example, it will conceal a coin up to silver dollar size and deliver it to your hand with practically no motion.

I have a wallet with a zipper on one of the sections. In my expirience, a single holder just for coins looks like a magician with tricks. Not a tricky magician.

I have found this http://www.caselogic.com/digital_media_c......id=58599 Case Logic Memory Card holder to be quite nice.
It has 6 little pockets (3 on each side) and coins fit in it nicely. Cost $3.99 and you can find it at most places that sell digital cameras. I have a few of them and they have worked great. Mine are the older model without the zipper. They used a velcro strap instead. I like the zipper better. Works VERY nice for custom coins. 3 Fly, for example fits nicely. It looks huge in the photo, but it's not very large at all and easily fits in your pocket without being a pain.

Magicpitch: that is a really good idea, I will definately being keeping my eyes peeled for one of those. I currently use a pro carrier and have had most of the suits and waistcoats I wear fitted with coin pockets so I'm not messing around trying to find coins.
These purses are great but not to be used in front of the spectators in my opinion. A guy who works with me keeps his coins in a fancy holder and pulls them out infront of the punters but I always think it looks funny keeping coins like this because coins are something you keep in your pocket and are not very valuable........ I exclude my triple threat from that statement. People look at him funny sometimes like "what's so special about those coins they need a special holder" Just my opinion |

That said I do perform Nathan Kranzo's coin purse which obviously uses a purse, people look at me funny like why does that fully grown man have a purse.....then I change it into a much more masculine rock. Thanks Nathan

Black leather, multi compartmented, will hold up to silver dollar sized coins, it will secretly deliver a coin to your hand from a concealed pocket, and it was designed from the ground up to be used discretely by coin magicians. It will be available with illustrated instructions within a month. Probable cost,,,$ 20.00

Paul...I'm intigued by the purse that turns into a rock. You have much room to store items? I'm assuming it's pretty nifty to pull coins out of the bag, set it down and all of a sudden it's hunk of rock.
Doomo--sounds interesting...looking forward to it! BooRadley |

BooRadley, it's an effect Nathan Kranzo markets. you pull out a little purse take out a coin and place it on the table after a short coin routine....or long routine if you prefer the climax is the purse is still the same size and shape but completely solid. it requires some practice but it's not difficult. I work 5 nights a week and have started doing this most nights it's a lovely effect. I typed it wrong on my last post it's called stone purse
Doomo: love the sound of the purse, keep us updated. when do you think it'l be out? |

Paul, The prototypes are done. We are already into final production. It will be realeased in early July. As will our next wallet. A billfold version of the Bendix Bombshell. And yes, it is a REAL billfold that you can use as your real wallet. No palming. I must admit, both are gorgeous!

Hi Paul,
Thanks for bringing up my effect. I created my effect because I found a rock at a friends house that looked just like a coin purse. I thought IT WAS a coin purse but when I picked it up and tried to open it I fooled myself! There is a great moment when the stone is revealed where everyone starts to want to feel it and touch it. After several people start hold it the true power of the effect begins to build. This is kind of a "trickle effect" as my friend Eric Mead describes it. A turtle would be cool. All the best, Kranzo

OK. Back from LVMI. The new coin purse was a hit! Along with the new wallet! For the new purse, the the best quote award goes to Joey Burton--- "At last a coin purse that doesn't look gay!"
