Has anyone seen Mark Wilson's Vol 1 and Vol 2 of "Mark Wilson's Course in Illusions" Is there any good material there for use in a stage show?

I have both Vol. 1 & Vol. 2. They feature the Arabian Tent Principle and Victory Carton Illusions. There's nothing Earth shattering about the principles but there's excellent information on how to get the most out of these illusions.
In addition, Mark and Nani were very creative in their use of these simple illusions, adding switches and other variations. In the early days of Mark's specials, they didn't have a lot of money for illusions and had to come up with new ones every week. For that reason, they became very adept at using cardboard illusions. It really depends on what you're looking for as to whether they are worth it or not. If you're looking for state of the art high tech illusions, this isn't it. If you're looking for practical ideas that can be worked on a budget, these are great. Finally, the actual illusions are described in "Mark Wilson's Complete Course in Magic" so you don't have to buy the illusion tapes to make these illusions. The tapes just show you great ways to use them, not to mention wonderful clips from Mark's specials. |

Magicmikey is right. I have all three of Mark Wilson's videos, and they are full of great ideas, with a bunch of different ways to use one illusion. Like he said though, don't expect Burton or Copperfield quality illusions here, but they are great for the not so rich entertainer.

Thanks for the information.
I read that volume 1 (I believe) does include one new illusion idea, "Mike's Clubhouse A revolutionary new illusion principle, revealed for the very first time. Simple, practical, baffling." What do you think about this |

I think that one of the greatest assets of these videos is the experience of being taught by one of the legends of magic.
Plus, you get a great idea of what they had to do to make those historical weekly magic shows 40 years ago. Mark and Nani are truly bring class to magic. |

Bello,
Mike's Clubshouse is pretty good. I wouldn't call it breath-taking, but its idea is clever, and would fool an audience. I considered making an item like it before. I would recommend you buy this item!

I already have Mark Wilson's Complete Course course in Magic (The Hardbound book). I was hoping that the Illusion videos offered more illusions than those covered in the book. My impression after reading these responses is that the video just expounds on the already published Illusions. But, it does seem that there is one extra illusion not mentioned in the book "Mike's Clubhouse" are there anymore illusions that are not covered in the book that are covered in the video?

I enjoyed Vol II Suspensions and Levitations. He truly knew how to get the most out of his Super X Illusion.
