Hey Guys and Gals, If you want comedy, take a look at the Whimsical Productions first release, the ABC Gumball Re-Combobulator. This effect as well as others to come are my creations specifically designed for Child Entertainers. Take a look at my website, as it grows, and I promise I will do my best to create some fresh fun new ideas.
So to answer your question...hmmm. The ABC Gumball Re-Combobulator has my vote! But a giant toothbrush, Break Away Wand or a dirty pair of socks can get just as many laughs, it's all in how ya pitch da prop! Good luck everybody and keep the kids laughin'. Chance Wolf http://www.wolfsmagic.com/

Finally someone mentioned the honker horn found on bicycles. Here in Taiwan old people use them to advertise themselves as ice-cream sellers at parks and festivals. I get a lot of by-play from it here on that one.
Got to stick with what works, my old reliable break away wand bought in India last year gets lots of laughs. I also use four different kinds of glasses on the kids when playing Paper Balls Over the Head with them. So, to recap: 1. honker horn 2. break away wand 3. various kinds of funny glasses

My three funny props are;
1. A fly swatter instead of a wand— of course the kids will tell you that you are wrong. 2. 20th century undies. 3. Mouth coil— and it doesn't matter how you produce it! |

A comedy item I use is a top hat with a fez inside it— I put the top hat on the kid's head and say it looks too big, then take it off. The remaining fez always gets a good laugh.
I also use a wand bar— a wooden bar with 6 coloured wands in it. When the kid tries to take one out the rest fall through the bar— excellent for misdirection as well. Brian.

Three of my top 3 Nearly Normal comedy props:
1. My electronic chicken that goes off for the 2nd and 3rd time at a random time in my program. I use the music to do my start slow / end fast Nearly Normal juggling routine. After the first time I act exhausted. By the 3rd time to the crowds amusement I sometimes am. 2. My small sound generator that has buttons for : boing boing, wah wahhh, kaboooob, alarm clock... 3. Pauses and double takes (my Nearly Normal face). 4. Nigel (pictured), ooops that's four. 5. Mouth squeakers (oops that's five...). (Thanks Den for the thread and telling me where to get the last item.) This site is greattttttttttttttttttttttttttt. Harris

For me it would probably be:
- Rubber Chicken - Break-away wand - Silly Billy "stretch" wand I am always amazed at how much laughter and fun responses I get from a simply rubber chicken. I mean kids literally seem to wet themselves with it just coming into view. Funny how that is. Kyle

I've never thought much of the rubber chicken but with so many recommendations I'll have to give it a try. Maybe I've found something to produce from my Temple Screens?
