All double lifts, except for the pushover double lift have the downfall of looking unnatural. This is because most people turn over a single card by using the thumb to push it over first. Other double lifts can be made to look more natural, if you turn over a single card in exactly the same fashion as your doubles. Doing this is very tough though, because it requires the reversal of natural habit.
Having said all of this, a smooth double lift will go undetected, no matter how unnatural it looks. At least, in my experience. I recommend taking a look at Martin Nash's "Knockout Double Lift", it's a little bit flourishy, but still very nice. It's a push over, but it's extremely reliable due to the technique. Cheers, Zac

I've been training on DL's in the past months or so but haven't much done some triple ones. When I tried some (3's), it definitely looks like more than one card. Any suggestions?
bdw I'm using the side card turnover (dunno what its really called). Thanks, Hakz |

Well, Jason England has a video that you can buy in Theory11 (it´s not expensive) where he teaches in-depth 4 different types of double-lifts

Years ago I learnt an unusual DL from the Seven Card Assembly routine by Daryl (found in his FFFF Session 1996 lecture notes). It's very different from the usual method. Somehow the handling stuck, and nowadays I find myself automatically using Daryl's version.

All you can do is practice and find what works for you. I do a push off double and it's taken me years to master

Dai Vernon's push off as described in Stars of Magic is a really good DL but requires lots of work to do it well...
I practice it from time to time but in real life I use a Strike DL!
