I am returning to Magic after many years. Some hand surgery prompted me to dig out some old books that I still had -- though they are now somewhat worn -- and practice some sleights that I used to know. It has brought back many happy memories, and I have renewed my interest with vigor.
When I was young, Steve Beam was working at (or the proprietor of) the local magic shop. I tried to take lessons from him, but there just were never enough kids for the group class. After reading some of the comments about him here and elsewhere, I now understand what an incredible opportunity I have missed. (If only I had been old enough to drive and make a pest of myself at that point!!) <grins> Well, that sort of gives away how long it's been (at least to people from my neck of the woods), but nevertheless thanks to all for your interesting comments on the Café. |
