I've had my MiPro 101 for about 3 years. Use it for my voice only. Last week, after a gig, I left it turned on for about a week or more, which completely drained the battery. Now the battery doesn't seem to be recharging. Normally while recharging there is a green light that blinks during recharging and the green light stays on when fully charged. The unit is plugged in but the green light isn't on or even blinking now. I tried running the unit while plugged in. It won't even work while plugged in.
Should I just keep it plugged in a few days or DO YOU THINK I need a new battery? If so how much are they? Thanks. Jim

1> If you are handy with a volt meter you could check to see if the charger itself is damaged.
2> If you are not handy with one you can try to leave it hooked up for a few days and see if maybe it recharges. Keep in mind that all rechargeable batteries have a finite number of times that they can be recharged or lifetime (think of your car battery usually dated in months or years). Some batteries do not like to be completely discharged and can from that point not hold a charge, and/or develop a memory problem. Checking the battery for voltage with a regular VOM does not always tell you if the battery is good or not because the volt meter only puts a very small load on it. There is a battery checker sold thru various electronic suppliers that can check batteries properly. Hopefully it is just a battery problem. I will check on battery prices for you as I am a MiPro dealer. I will PM the info. There should be a dealer in your area. I am not sure right off the top on my head if the battery is a special battery or just an off the self model. James Adamson http://www.seam2006.com

Thanks, James! I didn't know you were a mipro dealer. Good news. The green light started blinking so it looks like it's recharging finally.

Another problem: Maybe James can help.
I have a Mipro 101A wireless. I have had this problem for almost the entire time I have owned the unit. I charge up the unit: try to use it, it works good at first but if I turn up the music volume or volume on the unit, it completely shuts off, no lights. It happens when I talk on it too, Seems if I get the speaker maybe up to a 1/3 or 1/5 it shuts off, like it can't handle the sound. Most times I can't get it to turn on again. If I play the music low at low volume it works most of the time. this happes with the lav and the hand held mic. Appreciate any ideas or assistance. thanks chris |
