As a big Angel fan, I was very saddened to hear of the death of Glenn Quinn who played "Doyle" in the first series. It appears he died of a drug overdose. Smile Smile

We can confirm the death of actor Glenn Quinn who played Doyle in Angel.

Glenn Quinn, who was 32, was found at the house of a friend on Tuesday. The exact cause of his death is currently unknown.

Quinn played Doyle in the first series of Angel, until the character made a dramatic exit in the episode Hero.

Glenn Quinn spent eight years playing Mark Healy in hit TV comedy Roseanne before joining the Buffy spin-off as Angel's half-demon mentor.

Born in Dublin, he used his own accent in the show, although writer Jane Espenson revealed that Glenn often had to re-dub his own dialogue in post-production if it sounded too incomprehensible to an American audience.

As well as acting, Glenn owned a night club in Los Angeles and taught David Boreanaz to play the drums.

We'll bring you more details as we get them.

It is with great sadness that we report that Glenn Quinn passed away Tuesday, December 3, 2002. Glenn's body of work earned him the devotion of fans around the world, and he will most certainly be sorely missed. The staff at Glenn-Quinn.com would like to extend deepest sympathies to his friends and family, and the assurance that through his work, Glenn touched all of us. He will never be forgotten.

A memorial fund has been set up by Glenn's former Roseanne co-workers and friends, Michael Fishman and Mary Quigley, to help defray the funeral costs to Glenn's family. At the requets of Glenn's family, all additional funds will be donated to an as-yet undecided charity in Glenn's memory. The fund will be open for the next three weeks

Actor Glenn Quinn may have died of a drug overdose, police say.

Quinn, 32, a former co-star of "Angel" and a recurring player on "Roseanne," was found dead Tuesday (Dec. 3) at a friend's home in North Hollywood.

Los Angeles police suspect a drug overdose and will keep the case open until toxicology tests are complete, the Los Angeles Times reports. No foul play is suspected.

A native of Ireland, Quinn moved to the United States in 1988. He first appeared on "Roseanne" in 1990, playing the boyfriend, and later husband, of Roseanne's daughter Becky.

He made his movie debut in the John Travolta movie "Shout" in 1991, sharing an on-screen kiss with a then-unknown Gwyneth Paltrow. He played the half-demon Doyle on the first season of "Angel."

Funeral services for Quinn were scheduled for Saturday

Oh no. Angel was and still is one of my favorite shows as well. I guess this kills any hope of Glenn's return as a character on the show. But doing drugs never ends well for anyone- not even for television stars. Smile

Mrbilldentertainer, I think you would have heard something by now, if CA had died in 2002.

It would make his current show more exciting, being a corpse and all.

Maybe it was his first stunt that went wrong and now he is just a computer generated figure.

Could be. My wife went from loving his show, CrissAngel, to thinking he is a low life of a human being.
