Hello all. I have a quick question for anyone that performs this effect. Firstly, I would like to state that this effect is INCREDIBLE! that's number one.
My question though is, I ALWAYS have trouble getting the thread out of my neck. For those of you who perform the effect you will know what I mean. IT IS IMPOSSIBLE. And I use exactly what was stated on the dvd YET it feels like the other stuff he said NOT to get. On the video, he is able to saw back and forth and it gets smaller and smaller until the thread pops out. Mine, I cannot do that. I also have another question about this effect but cannot describe it here without giving away anything so whoever pm's me about this I will ask my second question as well. THANKS ALL! |

Try to "saw" it into your neck, so that the thread can be moved around while it's in your neck.
If you do this, you will notice that you can bring it out by just sawing. Just out the thread against your neck and instead of just putting it in, try to saw it in and then saw it out. Hope that helps! Soory for my English! |

Hey, not a problem. Thanks for the response. That sounds like a plausible solution. Thanks again Christian!

I'm tempted to pick this effect up. Is it worth it?
A Trick? Well yes there are quite a few "tricks" I can do, but alas there are women and children present. Find me later.

Yup, it definitely is. Easy to do and you just need a something extra with you. (you most likely have it at home already).
For those who believe, no explanation is necessary. For those who do not, none will suffice.

Hedgecore, you perhaps don't do it in a good location. Try over or under. It's not the same.

I got the CD yesterday, and have blown away at least 5 people so far with it. I haven't had any problems--the thread does pop out like it's supposed to, and I do have to put some pressure on it--to the spec, it looks real as hell because it pretty much IS coming through my flesh. It looks real to me even. My only problem is that my neck gets sore from cleaning up afterwords after two or three times doing it.
If anyone needs help, PM me, but don't ask me how the trick is done--I'm glad to help those who already know the effect though.

Hi,
TriXter9669, as far as your question goes on which thread to use, I would suggest a polyester spun thread. One more thing, I did notice that people are not able to saw the thread in their neck once the so called thread is in their neck, this is also given in the DVD. All you need to do is make sure that the thread is wet before you perform. I usually put the thread in my mouth and tell my spectators that I am lubricating the thread so I can do, what I'm going to do easily. Have fun. |

I have also found that wetting the thread (putting it in my mouth) is very useful and allows the thread to saw back and forth and come out easily. My neck also gets sore after doing this a few times. I guess that is the nature of the beast.

I have the DVD, and may I be the first to announce this trick as
'Trick of the year'. The effect is absolutly jaw-droppingly amazing, yet is so easy to do and extremely cheap to fix up. Unlike the Criss Angel levitation, where you need an extra £300 to buy materials and then master sewing skills. This can be bought and performed by a three year old with their own pocket money! My question, is how many times can you perform the effect before needing to re-apply the special ... Do you have to do it every time, or can you do it once at the begining of a party and perform the effect several times throughout the night? Steve P.s: You do know that there is an Easter egg on the DVD at the bottom, with the method to get the thread from the back of the neck to the front as well. |

I have combined "Choke" with my razor blade routine and I had people tell me it was the weirdest thing they've ever seen in person. I do my razor blades routine much like Andrew Mayne's version, and I use 5 blades. I only pull 4 out of my mouth. Then I pretend to choke a bit, break off a new piece of thread and perform "Choke", and pull the 5th razor blade out of my throat onto the thread. It's almost to perfect of a combination and I smack myself continually in the head for not thinking of something like that for my razor blade routine. Thank you Sean!!!!!!!!!

This is about the freakiest and most realistic bit of magic that I have ever seen! Absolutely incredible. Looking forward to test-driving this in the restaurant bars (but not in the restaurant!!!).

Levitator, I love the idea of using a razor blade routine in conjunction with SAW. Would you mind if I used the same idea?
SAW alone is pretty amazing for most folks--I can't wait to try it with the razor/string illusion!

I'm planning on videotaping my version of it at my next couple of performances and putting a little piece together on it. Once I get it finished, I'll PM ya and find out where I can send it to ya to check out. If you videotape your version, I'd love to see it! Combining the 2 is a little tricky, so feel free to PM me if you want some extra ideas on putting the 2 effects together. I had to experiment a bit to find a presentation that worked for me. Good luck with it!! Get ready for some awesome reactions! |

Thanks so much James, and I'd love to see the video of your performance! I'm still working it all out as to how to combine them, and would appreciate any tips you'd like to share!
