Get norm neilsons. the ones with fanning powder already built into them are the best.

Yes I agree with you, I have tried every manpulation card and model out there and have found these to be my favorites.

I would agree with the general census here in that the best way to find out what works for you personally is not to ask others, but to go out there and buy a bunch of different types of decks and practice with them. Work them in and run through some routines with them.
In this light, you are finding out what works best for you personally and allows you to almost test drive each model till you find the right one for you. Remember that what works for one performer may not always work for you. You have to find out what works for you personally and testing out these various cards and makes is the best way to accomplish this. You may even determine that you like one brand of cards for certain moves and another for other routines or sequences. Experimenting is the best way to go. Kyle

All our hands are different - our sweat, oil, etc content or dryness vary - hence the personal choice of one brand over the other. Work on each brand to see which one is really suitable for your hands.
Please note that practicing environment and actual performing environment can also affect the condition of your hand differntly - your hands may become more sweaty or really dry. It is only through experimentation that would help you select the right cards for you. What works for others may not necessarily work for you or vice versa. |

Exactly right. One car that you like may not be the type of car someone else wants or needs. So go out there and test drive as many cars as you can. =)

Very true indeed and the other number one culprit is having my hands too cold. When my hands and fingers are cold it feels like I am doing every move in super slow motion.

Besides selecting the cards, it is also important to find out the exact condition of your hands and then finding out which type of cards would suit the particular condition of your hands.
The different conditions of our hands include dry hands, sweaty or very sweaty hands, cold stiff hands, hands with peeling skin, greasy hands (due to oil), etc. Another thing is - do you have performance anxiety? This emotional condition can make your hands quite sweaty. How about your sweat glands emitting too much oil? This would make your hands slightly greasy or sticky. All manipulation cards are good in their own way - the only problem is they may not suit all kinds of hands. Food for thoughts here - 1) Understand the current condition of your hands 2) Understand how the performance environment would affect the condition of your hands 3) Identify which cards suit the current condition of your hands 4) Find out what the life span of the cards would be - if used repeatedly by the current condition of your hands such as sweaty or oily hands 5) Plan ahead by buying enough cards - not only for performing but also for back up purposes |

After trying several styles of manipulation cards, I finally went to red Bee backs. As Jeff McBride teaches, I broke them down with a ruler until they soften. That's when your cards are really working for you I feel.

Yup, I went back to red Bee decks too. Have been using Bees for more than 20 years and I don't think I would change to others again - just my personal preference.

I use both Bee brand as well as regular bicycle brand cards. I learend with the bicycle brand because in my original manipulation act of long ago, I use to do transitional effects of card into instant jumbo card and then jumbo card manipulations. I always displayed both fronts and backs of cards in my stage movement and such. Because of doing this, I wanted the cards to match. I learned that I can use bicycle brand cards just like with Bees as long as I break the cards in properly before hnad. They work just fine.

Yes, if the Bee or Bicycle is broken in properly and treated with zinc stereate (fanning powder) they work very well for card fans production and manipulation.
The key lies in treating the cards properly and they would end up very soft and flexible for manipulation techniques. One more thing - be very careful of Bee decks 'pirated' and made in China. The card box and card design looks exactly the same. You would only know the difference when you touch and handle the cards individually. The card stock is horrible and inferior and will crack and break easily. These 'pirated' Bee decks are now sold all over the Asia Pacific countries. I won't be surprised if they are now sold in Ebay. |

I find the un-powdered deck to be a much better card then the powdered deck. It is a simple matter to put a quarter ounce of powder in a bag and shake. The $5 un-powdered deck is different card material, it last longer and is snappier in use. These cards are more for split fanning and production, not straight fanning. |

Casino decks are not pirated cards. They are decks that were used once as the law in Las Vegas. They then cut a corner or in some way mark the deck like drilling a hole in the cards to show they were used.
Many places sell these cards, there is nothing wrong with them as far as quality goes. |
