For those that think the Miser's Dream would have a negative impact on hats, I think you should find a way to use it to make people not give you change. I remember a Cellini hat line that goes: "No contribution is to big or to small, just FOLD it up and put it in the hat." This is a subtle way to keep people from giving you change. If you were doing a Miser's Dream in your act after it was over you could say something like "Later when you guys are filling my hat up with cash remember that I already have all the change I need!" It goes with the Miser's Dream and clearly tells people you think your show is worth more than pocket change.

I have been working specifically on this part of my busking show and I have a lot of stuff I am learning that I will eventually share with everyone. Getting paid is the most important part of what you do busking and I promise you if you don't spend as much time working on it as you do your magic, your show, and your presentation you will not get what you think you are worth. Remember, Kozmo, Cellini, Gazzo, etc, don't get fat hats just because they have a good show or are a good magician, in fact if they were just ok they could still get fat hats with their hatting skills. I firmly believe that. Partly because I a couple of weeks ago I watched an old man blow into a Soprano Saxophone producing 3-4 different off key notes with no rhythm and plenty of squeaks and people still dropped money into his case as they walked by. I saw actual bills in this guys case and he couldn't play at all. That is beside the point though and a topic for a different discussion.
