First, you have to be familiar with the concept of digital roots.

When you subtract one number from another, and both have the same digital root (which is what the reversing and subtracting of the digits does here), you'll always wind up with either 0, or a multiple of 9.

You'll screw up the website if your randomly chosen number has two of the same digit ("11", "22", etc.), as this would result in 0, they don't list a 0 on the chart.

Assuming you don't get a zero, you'll have a multiple of 9. The next time you do this, take a look at all the designs located at the multiples of 9, and see if you notice anything.

Scott, no disrespect intended, but a lot of us know how this is done. Don't you think it would be nice to let someone enjoy the puzzlement of it for a while before you tip it? Just a thought,

If you follow the directions carefully, you'll NEVER finish with a "0".
That's why "0" isn't listed on the chart.
