And the last one is STRICTLY enforced.
But the first one is better advice.

I the dice have to hit the wall. that's not how people play on the streets where I come from and I am from memphis. In memphis we play the slickest win. This is my opinion, I mean if you are the best gun shot wearing a blindfold why would you want to make a rule saying nobody can wear a blindfold. In memphis everybody thinks they r the slickest, or they want to be the slickest. Nobody is going to admit that he is scared or he is a lame or a mark because if you r admitting a rule that the dice hit the wall this means you r a mark or you are scared and you don't have any game! Remember the old saying the best defense is a good offense! If you are the best pool shooter with one arm why would you make a rule saying nobody can play with one arm? So this make sure the dice hit the wall stuff sounds like casino stuff or lame laws. Champions go up against champions and if you are a mechanic get in there and fight. And may the best man win???!!!!!!!!!!

Inside the casino: Look on ebay. There is a table mock up with rubber diamonds for practice.I think the good ones are two notes and the cheap about$90. The same place can get the toss lessons. Does it work? skill and training can statisticly overcome the game. Generaly over a much longer than thought amount of time. You will generaly be asked to leave before you make any real money. The days of cameras have pretty much killed this.
On the outside: I consistantly call and make shots under various conditions at about 70-85 % of the time with fair dice. Again ebay. How to control fair dice. (1927) reprint of the KC Card Co booklet. Add to that the Scarne on dice hardbound book. either the 1945 or 1946 printings. Should be able to overcome any dice cup wall or many surface textures.

Anyway, apart from cheating, what are the games and rules of dice played on the street - usually. In England I have not seen it on the street. Years ago when I was kid they played a game called Crown Anchor here on the street but I can hardly remember it.

No, not somthing from Frank and those morons. I do know who those morons are.
You both have proven your utter lack of knowledge in controlled dice shots. You know nothing whatsoever about the subject or its history. No big deal, since I doubt you will find anyone else that can/will bother to tell you, and I don't have any clue why I should bother either, but her goes. I don't mind correcting anyone if I have the text to quote from The whip, the cross, the greek, the slide and the twist all were recorded in the pre depression era under different names. (thats before 1930 now that we need a history lesson) Scarne ripped off the Hudson name and made it "the twist" for his wartime (WWII) book. He changed the names of most of the shots he put in his book and they were around long before John was. Before that the shot was known as the hudson or the navy twist, also the twister. Let me know if you want more.

How is that relevant? The subject of this thread is controlled dice shots in a casino environment--a topic extremely narrow in scope.
If the Greek, Texas Twister, Picque, Helicopter, Whip, etc... are your thing that's cool--but it has no place in the topic at hand.

At least when you and I were in disagreement, it was about the same subject matter. I must admit to having a quite limited knowlege of such throws that are used for any purpose other than to get the money. I find them useless. (Only to me, not to others). I am glad you have spared me the explination phase of your arrogance. I am not sure I could take it.

Test yourself to be sure you really have control over the dice before risking money on your throws. That is the best advice I have read but even then I think it would be quite easy to deceive yourself if you’re the one keeping score. An independent score keeper I think would be best. The test itself would have to be carried out in the same conditions as they would be in an actual casino on the basis that given the same condition a similar results will occur. The test would have to be over a set period of time and have a dead line.
