Well it's an absurd depiction of life in a Las Vegas casino, but then that's not the intention. It's a fun show with plenty of pretty people to look at for an hour. I could never get into it but it remains popular.

Thanks for the input Mr Z. Being interested in this kind of stuff I keep my eyes open for fiction (and non fiction) accounts whether it be books magazines, tv shows or movies.

There are the odd scenes about cheating in the show that are sometimes interesting such as:
“Ed tracks a signal that is coming from outside of the casino that is being fed to the blackjack player. After seeing Sam use her palm pilot, Danny figures out how the blackjack player was cheating. He had a tiny camera in his finger that was being fed to the palm pilot of a valet named Stevie (Brian D. Phelan) outside, who was in turn giving him the cheating moves through a transmitter in his ear.” I quite like it, but it is Hollywood. I think I like it because I like James Caan. I liked him in the film Mean Streets or it might be called The Thief, not sure, I think they changed the name. The book that that film is based is good. Very real! I wish the show Vegas was more like that film. Anyway I see far worse things on TV than Vegas. I have not watched it for ages, have you seen any cheating scenes that were interesting as in might be feasible, lately?

I just watched the first four episodes, the fourth episode was interesting. Had a british guy marking cards with magnesium sulfate or some such chemical compound. Elliot Gould Guest stars as "The Professor" who runs a cheating school. And that pit boss lady is trying to help them do a deck switch at a blackjack tournament. It was kind of cool.

Yes I recall that one and looked up magnesium sulfate but I can't recall finding much about it. It did lead me to find some cheap VJ which I have not tried yet. I like the shows that get you thinking even if it is nonesense. I like Mission Impossible the tv shows more than the film and The Sting and Alias Smith and Jones and anything like that.

I have to say I have never understood why with all there money Hollywood can’t pay a broke gambler a few bucks to watch out for and correct the silly mistakes that they make in gambling films.

The show isn't about gambling! It is about hot girls in low cut and tight fitting dresses and about the security guys running around solving lil' crimes.

Mr.Z,
Speaking of Rounders. Do you know why 'The man' only gave Worm the ability to do overhand run ups. Was it because he was going to get caught and he thought that someone capable of doing it with the riffle wouldn’t get caught? Or am I just looking way to deep into it. |
