I am a restaurant magician and am looking to purchase some new DVDs. I am looking for DVDs with table-hopping effects that have easy reset, hard-hitting material. If anyone has recommendations please post. Also I want to learn the Chicago opener if you could recomend a source for that.

I personally like Front Row Sankey for some nice restaurant routines as well as The Richard Sanders Show, 3 DVD set. You will learn a variation of the Chicago Opener on the Sankey DVD mentioned. Some great material here. This will start you off and running.

Sankey has a new restaurant DVD out that has some good effects. I personally like the button opener he does. Carl Andrews has 3 DVDs that also have some great effects on them. Also Aldo Columbini has a DVD out. I forget the name but it is for walk around and close-up. Also, there is a DVD out called Spectators Don't Exist which has some good effects.
Hope this helps George |

I never knew Jay Sankey worked in restaurants! I always thought he was more into stand-up, comedy magic. I'd love to find out what restaurant he's working in so I could see him in action.
As for DVDs I would recommend pretty much anything by Dan Fleschman. I believe he even has a 3-DVD set on the market that is specifically designed for the restaurant worker. Also, The Art of Table-Hopping by Mark Leveridge has a wealth of advice and experience for anyone interested in restaurant work. Kent

Magicman,
I don't think he is still doing it but he did come out with the DVD pretty recently. |

You can't go wrong with these.
Miracles for Mortals (Chicago opener & torn and restored card) and lots of other great stuff. Bill Malone on the Loose Jay Sankey Front Row (as mentioned above) Richard Sanders (as mentioned above) Greg Wilson On the Spot Greg Wilson In Action Good Luck PW
After much soul searching about a signature, I decided not to have one.

Aldo Colombini's Lasting Impressions Vol. 1-4 (especially #1) Aldo Colombini's The Essential Aldo Vol. 1-3 I would say anything by Sankey. There are very usuable items on everything he puts out. I second the Carl Andrew's suggestion. You just can't go wrong with his material. The minute Dany Tong's DVD hits the shelves (I don't know when this will be I've only heard a rumor) BUY IT! |

You absolutely can't go wrong with David Williamson, a true worker in every sense of the word. He has a new lecture that goes over a lot of stuff in his Williamson Wonders book. (also a gold mine by the way)

Wow, it is great to finally hear Jay Sankey getting some credit for his hard work. That is a magic trick in itself! I personally loved Front Row Sankey, and he offers a lot of advice. I am exciteid about getting his real work dvd, which I need to find. I know this is about dvds, but make sure you get anything from Jim Pace, who is the master of the restaurant biz. He has his complete guide to resaurant and walk around magic, and his A-1 book, I believe. {Please correct me if I am wrong) Anyway, all the dvds listed above are great, and will give you tons of advice. There are also a couple of products from Martin Sanderson that fit the bill perfectly
