Do your groundwork first,,,this will give you a sound base to work on.When you know the demands of the Biz you may decide it is not for you. Prove your desire and someone will take you under their wing,,,this is the way to really learn,,,or go spend some money and get taught by a teacher (To know how to do a sideshow act is only 2% of the knowledge required to perform an entertaining sideshow act)Have you been on the road yet???
Ken. NB There are a small number of gifted graffters in the NE of the UK,,,, not as good as me,,,but ok! |

Not of a pro standard.
Most of us here, consider that to sell a secret especialy one we are useing to make a liveing with, is a foolish thing to do. When I started out I worked as a gaff lad,a roady and a goffor in order to get near to the performers who did this stuff. I studied the set up, publicity, flyposting, tober positioning, lighting, practice methods and everything to do with this biz. In those days we had the WMC to do our apprenticeship in,,,,now!!!! Find a performer, engage with them, learn the ropes and in return I am sure you will be taken under their wing and taught right. Its not like card tricks,,,read the instructions, practice then perform. Its a way of life which builds like a snowball until ready,,,no open the box in this job. Ken. BTW if it was easy to come by,,,it would be useless to achieve (Barry Walls)Showman and Fakir 1979. |
