I'm interested in information for this effect. The description at hocus pocus and other sites is very vague.
http://www.hocus-pocus.com/magicshop/?hn=1 Every site has the same ad. Anyone familiar with this? |

I have one of these and saw it demmed by Andy Nyman at a lecture, three cards are touched and outjogged in the pack, they are looked at and pushed back into the pack in the same position, the first card is spelled to, the second card is spelled to by using the spectators name ( I think, it has been a while since I have looked at it), the final card uses the Mother of your spectators maiden name and is counted down to. Oh by the way forgot to mention the pack can be shown at the start.
Very clever deck, nice effect, not sure why I don't use it actually. |

This is very similar to Central Reservation by Luke Jermay.
Nyman effect has been around for years so he can't be the one who got "" inspiration "" from Jermay. |

This is also fully explained on Andy's "Get Nyman" DVD set. In fact, the dvd performance and explanation that comes with the trick is an excert from the "Get Nyman" DVD.
I saw it on the original dvd set and went out to buy the deck for sale as it is worth it for all the work involved if you wanted to construct it yourself. I like this a lot, I don't ask for the spectator's mother's madian name for the last card. Here in the states, that is a security question banks ask you when opening an account, so I do not think spectators would feel comfortable giving that info to a room full of strangers. You can substitute any question, name of your first boyfriend or girlfriend, ...etc. When Christopher Congreave above says the pack can be shown, he doesn't mean you can hand it to the spectators, the magician hold them and spreads the faces to show all different cards. |

Thanks for the response. The effect sounds very interesting. I might go pick this up over at Hollywood magic later today.
