If he is hanging around in lounges and similar places, a small book of "bar bets" would be a good choice. There are a wide variety of these, including a recent small booklet called 'California Bar Tricks' that contain a lot of different ideas. The advantage is that once learned, you can do them anywhere, using things that are available on the spot.

Kind of hard if you don't have 606 dollars sitting around lol

Why not teach him some back palming, single productions, split fan productions, some billiard ball manipulation, diminishing silks and a body load dove production for a finale?

We grouse over exposure and then offer TTs, bill switches, CMH and other magic that is used by professionals for a "non magician"....whatever.

believe practically everyone started out as a "non-magician". Give him a decent quality trick, and he may decide to take it up as a hobby.

Dave

Yes Dave, I started as a non-magician, I begged for my first magic lesson and practiced the downs palm placement and coin production until my fingers ached. I scraped together enough money to buy a paper back version of Henry Hay's Amateur Magician's Handbook and it became my bible. Magic methods and secrets ought not be used to fish for interest, let the interest propel the desire to learn the methods and secrets. That's just my oppinion and of course you are free to do as you please. If the non-magician has a genuine interest in magic, I suggest RRCM and a deck of Bikes. It's like that old saying "Give a man a fish..."
