I make the pearl poodle everywhere I go. Today I had the strangest thing happen to me, I gave the poodle to a waitress, and she told me that she still has the snow flake I made for her the last time I was in. I do not do the pearl snow flake, but now that I know about it I must know how to do it. Can anyone help me learn it, or any other souvenier you can make with plastic beads.

I've never heard of the pearl snowflake.

Is it possible the waitress had too much RUM CAKE that day?

Al,

I haven't seen it, but I understand that Robert Neale is coming out with a book that's devoted to different shapes you can make with a strand of plastic pearls.

I have gotten so much mileage out of that dogs that I have to get my hands on that book ASAP. Please tell me how I can get in touch with Robert Neale. I have done walk around at cocktail parties using up about 1/3 of my time to make that dog, and getting tipped for being such a hit with the ladies. I have gotten phone calls from women asking me if I was the dog guy. Don't tell anybody I told you Larry, but you can make a bundle "doin the dog".

Al,

You don't have to convince me that the dog is great--I developed a magic effect with the poodle and included it on Volume 2 of my 2-DVD set entitled Scripted Insanity. The effect is entitled Pearl the Poodle and it's been a real worker for me.

Unfortunately, I don't have contact information for Robert Neale, but my guess is that the book will be widely distributed and available at most dealers.

Larry can you describe your pearl poodle routine?

Something I have added is I have little bags that I have rubber stamped with dog footprints.

Of course this is a "Doggie Bag" to take the pearl poodle home in.

And sometimes I use the flash string appearance of the pearl strand.

Also Tenyo has a TT with an electronic dog barker in it. I occasionally use that as an extra kicker to the routine.

A couple of extra beads on each sideof the head and a snip and you can have a reindeer.

I think the "snowflake" is actually the star - it's a six pointed one that's shown.

Of course if you are working a Bar Mitzvah it's the star of David.

That's right....Like animal balloons, if it looks remotely like something, no one will question it....snowflake, star, star of David, etc....

Greetings and Salutations,

I believe there is an ad in the latest issue of "Magic" promoting the book. If I recall reading it correctly, Neale describes 20 something animals, etc. that can be made with the pearls. I can't recall the name off the top of my head, although I made a mental note to keep an eye out for it. It's something like "Zoo Magic." Should be out soon, I'd think, if they're running ads for it.

Perhaps her "snowflake" is the dog you gave her, squashed and tweaked into a smowflake.
Maybe her boyfriend undid it partway and when he tried to put it back together again, that was as close as her could get to a realistic figure of any sort.
Try putting the dog in your pocket for a while and see what you get...
