I've always been facinated in escapes, but have only dabbled in it. I am really looking for escapes with that little magical touch. I've never liked the idea of escaping from, say, a milk can while behind a curtain. Does anybody have any recomendations for "magical" escapes. I am currently working on a commedy straitjacket/card revelation.

Hi,
I'd be inclined to suggest some in & out handcuffs for a magical comedy routine. Someone locks you in, then covers your hands. Ask them to explain something about a stage prop (what do you think it is) then a nice routine where you scratch your nose when they're not looking, and so on. It can really build rapport with an audience, and of course it's fun (which is most important!) James. |

Looking for a Magical Escape?
Mark Cannon newly makes these wonderful "19th Century Seance Handcuffs", Darby Screw type, a style used by Houdini himself. They are brilliant antique seeming handcuffs and allow you to do Davenport style Seance moves while covered. Tambourines rattle, horns blow...jacket reversals...you see the picture. They make normal looking 20th Century "Seance Handcuffs" as well...but the Darby version is glorious looking for that Spiritualist era Seance vibe. |

I actually have a set of the "old style" handcuffs. I have fun with those. That does put ideas in my head though...
Thanks guys, -Sandwich
