A nice thing about scars is that they are permanent proof of temporary insanity. These last few days have reminded me of the first bundle of money I lost in the import business nearly forty years ago. I had a warehouse of leather and wood chairs get bombed and burned in Lebanon. They missed the ship by three weeks. Does life change? I quit importing from there immediately. I found it gave me opportunities to make money! Apparently, things there are still burning. Should I check back in forty more years?

Then there is Selma, Alabama... We are dis-investing there as fast as we can. It may self-destruct before I can get our assets out of there anyway. We have two trucks hauling tomorrow. If you need a real laugh read their City of Selma site sometime http://www.angelfire.com/un/selma/ Unfortunately it is true. It has a magnificant future behind it! This is a city that sells the shopping carts back to the stores that own them. Stealing shopping carts is not a crime in Selma. It's a source of revenue for the city. And the mayor brags about it!

Certainly going where the ducks and opportunities are is step one. When the opportunities leave, beat them to the new location.
