I’ve had the “Catapult” DVD for a little while now and I’ve got to say that there’s some wonderful stuff on this gem. I’ve been sleeving and using other body ditches for over twenty years and although this particular technique has been around for ages, Brian has done an incredible job focusing on what I termed “cross-sleeving” and then - he stepped completely out of the box.
Since the technique was first used, sleeving was synonymous with wearing a jacket. Platt’s approach can set you free!!! That is the BIG NEWS of this DVD. Now I’ve read some posts asking if you need to have long sleeves in order to sleeve, I think that the answer is pretty self explanatory. A multitude of effects are covered on this production, Platt lists them all in another post and others have mentioned them. Pretty much all that on it can be adapted to just about any other use you can think of. Platt’s arid sense of humor takes you step-by-step through it all. Now this is a 2 DVD set so you are certainly getting a lot of bang for your buck. My only critique, if it can be called that, is that I thought more should have been said about retrievals. Other than that… you’ll learn a whole lot about a different approach to sleeving that anything you’ve encountered so far. |

Great DVD. An honest production with great sleight of hand visuals. I hope to see more from Platt in the future.

Wear long sleeves and always be ready to perform very visual magic. Nice not having to carry props with you all the time.
