You said; "Dear steve and crew,
I believe when pulling a post (for example the claude haggerty post) you should PM the creator of the post and inform them why it was pulled.. can sumone PM me and tell me why the claude post was pulled?" A valid question. Basically, with over 25,000 members and literally hundreds of new postings made each day, the job of reading and monitoring the material at hand is an enormous task that my volunteer staff and I have to contend with. We do our very best to maintain the quality and civility of said postings, but we are not perfect and do make mistakes from time to time. To get an idea of our philosophy of our Café community, it is important that everyone understand our Café rules and etiquette. Though each member agrees to these policies upon joining the board, few have actually taken the time to read and understand the rules that govern this website. You must keep in mind, though we do try our best to notify folks when a topic or post is relocated or deleted, we are under no obligation to do so. More often than not, if no notice was sent to the poster, it is usually because the reasons should be obvious (e.g, The thread has gone off-topic, the post is an obvious advert, the topic was started by an internet troll, or the post/topic involves legal issues, etc) and in some cases (such as the review forums) the topic was not actually reviwing anything, it was just speculation, therefore the topic was removed. Having said all that, in your particular case, the following paragraph (taken from our Café rules and etiquette) fits the reason perfectly. I apologize if one of my mods did not notify you, though the reason of removal should be obvious. Pointing fingers: "Because the Internet allows folks to post comments (whether true or not) in just a few seconds for possibly thousands to read within a very short time, making negative statements or accusations concerning the character or business practices of an individual or company/dealer will not be tolerated. While you may personally know that John Doe stole an idea, trick, or effect and is a thief, posting such information on The Magic Café will get your post deleted asap, and with no notice or explanation given. As far as we are concerned, such postings are no more then gossip or slander and fall into the lawsuit category. As has been stated elsewhere, we are NOT a court of law, we are a magic community. Please take any grievances you may have concerning individuals of questionable character to the proper authorities, who are better equipped to handle such situations. 'Nuff said" I sincerely hope this has helped to clarify our position in such matters. Have a great day and thanks for your continued support of my little website.
