I will try to word this so as not to expose any methods. But for anyone wanting to use D'Lites with a visible light in their mouth, (this will add an extra demension to an act where only one hand is available), here's what I do:
If you will be using both hands, you'll need three matching D'Lites. If you will be using one hand, then you will need two matching D'Lites. Remove the light part from one of the D'Lite devices. This is pretty easy. It should slide out in one working piece with enough jimmying of the housing. Cut the thumb or tip of a finger out of a pair of latex surgical gloves. Put the lighting device into the latex pocket you've created and then tie off the open end; squeezing out as much air as possible during the process. Place that latex item in your mouth, (be careful not to choke on it and do so at your own risk). You can keep it in your mouth between your cheek and gum, bringing it up to between your teeth with your tongue during performance. You then activate the device with your teeth. Just a little practice in the mirror and you will know what moves are needed to bring the item up into place, how best to activate it and what position looks best. Then you can transfer the light to your mouth; which adds something to the routine - especially for those in your audience that may think they know how it's done! |
