Never criticize someone else until you have walked a mile in their shoes. Then, when you do criticize them, you will be a mile away from them and you will have their shoes.

Yes these guys are a lot of fun! And originally from our home state!
I've had friends who have seen them rave on and on but I haven't seen them live yet.

That's outstanding! It is wonderful to see a group doing some of the "classics" with their own unique personal interpretation. Bravo!

Kevin and Thom are good friends of mine.

Thom and I worked together when he was with The Modern Gypsies (with Michael Saab) and we all had gigs at Sloss Fright Furnace (about 2000?).

During that first year we put together a group for a one shot show called "Outside The Box". It was the 3 of us and Brian Rudo, a great street performer from Maryland. It was a 4 act show with illusion, sideshow, fire, and escapes.

A couple years later, Thom and I put on a show called, "Theatre of the Absurd", at a new theater here. It combined magic and sideshow in an experimental concept. We also teamed up with some other variety types in an annual show called "Vaudeville Revisited".

After Thom and Saab went separate ways (Michael still has The Modern Gypsies http://www.mjsaab.com/), Thom moved to NOLA and began to team up with Kevin LePine, who is from Michigan. Thom is from here in Birmingham.

They began to work the college circuit and much of their business was up north, so they relocated that direction (Thom in Chicago, unclear about Kevin). Thom and his wife left NOLA about 2 months before Katrina hit. Lucky...

As far as them being creative performers, you can bet they are!

Thought you might like to see it, so I am working on putting the "Outside The Box" promo video on my website. It was made about 6 or 7 years ago. I'll post here again when (if) I get it uploaded.

Here it is: Outside The Box promo video

It's a 4.25 MB .wmv file.

This was put together on a zero budget from news clips and video we shot at the first show we did on Halloween night at Sloss Fright Furnace, about 2000.

Although we have pretty much scrapped this project, I just discovered the website we put together (url at end of video) is still live. There are more photos and such there.

Micheal Baker!!!!

It's Kevin! Glad you all like the show.

Micheal drop me an email at hypnotistkevinlepine@yahoo.com

Thom is doing great in Chicago. I'll be seeing Saab in a month in NY. I am taking on the producer role in the flying cat as I have a huge tour doing my hypnosis. I'd love to catch up.

All the best,

Kevin

BORN IN NEW ORLEANS -- LIVE IN DETROIT FOR 7 WEEKS

A press release:

Razor blades, broken glass, chain saws, fire, strait jackets and mom's fine china help The Flying Cat Circus make your face contort and wince, your palms sweat and your heart race. Somewhere near the middle of this turbulent ride you will feel spent and thoroughly entertained and you will ask yourself, "Why, didn't their parents teach them, better?" Then you realize it's not their parent's fault.

The Flying Cat Circus takes us to an era when touring entertainers, traveling magicians and comedy ensembles pushed the envelope of live entertainment. The Flying Cat Circus is a throwback to an innocent time in our history where entertainers proceeded to develop that which we know as comedy. The name of the era is Vaudeville.

The Flying Cat Circus is more than slight of hand and daring escapes. It is riveting acts of super-humanism that captivates mesmerized onlookers. The Flying Cat Circus takes the innovative best of Vaudeville, adds the "IN YOUR FACE" energy and action of Pulp Fiction. This turns into a recipe for fun. Danger, humor, and innovation are the cornerstones of this live stage spectacular.

This is not a "must see" show, it's more powerful than that!

This spectacular show will thrill, dazzle and amaze.
