Anyone knows any pdf (or tape/dvd, book preferably) on sponge ball routines. I have to improve myself on sponge ball manipulation so I'm looking for new routine ideas than the classic ones. (some resource on classic routines may help my hands work better too tho)

I suggest the Greater Magic Sponge Ball DVD. Not only is there numerous routines performed but more importantly for you is the teaching on the numereous sleights one can use. This is a bargain at $20.00 from virtually any reputable dealer.

Mark Wilson's Complete Course in Magic has a great sponge ball routine. BTW, this is the PDF and download section. Shouldn't this be in the book or DVD section?

You are right..wrong section...but when they move it this goes with.
Find the old coffee-table magic book, "The Blackstone Book of Magic and Illusion" which is now in paperback. Many public libraries have the older hardback. In the back of the book are ten or so tricks taught...basic ones but quite good. One of them is the ten-count. Basically, you count one to ten using two sponge balls and some hand motions and a sponge ball jumps from one hand to another. For many, many years this simple trick has been my sponge ball routine...both laymen and magicians love it. I do it, then ask them if they want to see it backward. They say yes. I switch the positions of the two balls on the table...pause. People like that as if that makes it backwards. Then I count it backward from ten to one. I punch it with having the ball jump from my hand to theirs, just once. I'm sure you can figure this out. Simple routine...plays great. |

I learned my first sponge ball routine off Mark Wilsons Complete Course. It really is great. Bill Abbott has a great routine in his DVD Bill Abbott Performs Stand-Up Magic For Kids. There are 2 other GREAT routine on there, Chico and The Thing.
