Hey guys,
I'm just tooting my own horn here, but I'm excited about this, so I wanted to share. I just got a call from the museum I have been working and they have asked me to extend my contract with them for 4 more months. This has been a cool gig because not only am I allowed to advertise my company, but I have have the run of a dedicated theater space (nothing fancy, but it does have an elevated stage and storage space for my props). So, if you happen to be in Portland, Oregon in the near future, stop by the Portland Children's Museum on Saturday and say hi. Thanks, Richard |

Sounds like a great gig.... How many shows do you do a day Or week? are you just doing children shows or is your show geared more for the family? Just curious..

Congratulations on the extension. Any time that you can stay setup somewhere and play for different audiences is a great gig!

Sorry, No flaming intended, but I don't get the message of this topic. What am I meant to learn from someone getting re-booked for a gig? Yes,I agree with the rest, congratulations are in order but.. do we all need to post everytime we get a re-book? Surely you have had re-books in the past haven't you?
O.k. Hey guys I've just been re-booked for another four months at Ceasars palace Las Vegas might be worth a mention, but at some unknown 'Museum'? Are you there as a performer or an exhibit? C'mon, You were obviously good at what you did and what you do, but as a reader of the topic what am I supposed to learn from your experience ? Nice as it is to share your experience, do you really need a pat on the back that much? |

To be honest, I take as much patting on the back I can get It offsets the poking and slapping I get in other areas of my life.
Basically, I think of the Café as a club. I've been haunting this site for years and have made a lot of friends here. So, though I don't mention every booking I get, a 4 month extension of a show with my own theater space is pretty exciting to me. It may not be exciting to everyone, but it is something I wanted to share with my friends here at the Café - the same way I would tell my local friends at a SAM or IBM meeting. I don't see working at Ceasar's anytime soon, but if I do, I'll no doubt tell everyone I know about it. The same goes for when I get my first cruise ship contract. (Which I hope will be soon). Thanks, Richard |
