Anyone know or got this????
Ash A sellout at the most recent I.B.M. Convention, this thing is darned clever! Magician borrows a spectator's cell phone and puts it under a napkin. The napkin is held high in the air. The magician then hands an aluminum attache case to another spectator to hold. The napkin is then whisked away, and the cell phone has vanished! The magician then asks someone to dial the spectator's number, and it is heard to ring inside the locked attache case. The other spectator is given the combination to unlock the case, and they remove the ringing cell phone. Props: The Secret Agent Executive Briefcase with its new special, undetectable secret construction. Concept by Roger Dreyer and routine by Magick Balay. The case can be made to be suspended in mid air with special provided gimmick. Two magnets built into the top lid. Special inside compartments are made to hold cards, pens, cups and balls, and more. Secret metal aluminum plate provided to have an image of a card appear. Instruction manual written by Simon Lovell providing 200 different tricks you can perform with the Secret Agent Executive Briefcase. "I know a clever trick when I see it. This one is really clever." -- Walter Zaney Blaney "I am amazed how many secret new innovative gimmicks are built into this case. The price should be at least double." -- Bob Elliot "*** clever." -- Richard Kaufman Please note that this is a non-discounted item and is not subject to any said sales, discounts, etc. |

Is this available at any of the on-line stores? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Hi David, could you give more detail review on it ?

The suit case looks nice from the outside but the props supplied are not that of high quality . Hocus - Pocus changed the product picture recently (last time it was showing the gimmicks that are provided with the bag ) . The magnets on the bag can be used to stop watches , the secret compartment (which is really clever because I couldn't find it for the 1st time) can be used to do the cell phone effect or any card to briefcase effect . Some of the ietms provided are sponge balls, an okito box , a pen through anything ,...etc (basic magic effects )
I just prefer my leather sturdy briefcase to be brought to shows that all . Won't be using most of the stuff inside so that why I said it din't really suit me . -David

It's actually a re-hash of a Fantasma magic Product called the Executive magic Case: http://www.murphysmagicsupplies.com/cata......ase.html
The only innovation is the contemporary updating of the vanishing compartment (built in) to vanish a cell phone. As mentioned above, the other tricks are mostly beginners stuff and quality is quite high. If you want the best of fantasma products all in one case, then this one may be for you! The cups and balls set is plastic (but coloured chrome!), the cards are poker-sized but not very good quality. The best trick I found was the Ring and Rope routine provided and also the gimmicked 'Paranormal Deck'. |

Also the new price is quite a hefty increase on the old version. The Executive Magic Case can be purchased from the local Toys R'Us in Hong Kong for about US$80. So you're paying about 50% more for a gimmicked cell phone vanish!

I bought my Improved Secret Agent Executive Macig Case/Set from the Fantasma Magic booth during FISM, by non other than Simon Lovell.
The aluminium attache case mesúres 16.75" - 11.75" - 3.75". It's not only an effect, but also a magic set, cosisting of many many tricks for the beginner. I really like this one, and it was one of my better buy's during the convention.

Doesn't sound bad overall to me. You're going to pay a good price for a nice quality, ungimmicked case anyway. Naturally, an unseen, discreet bit of gimmickry will add to the price.
Looking at the Hocus page, I didn't even realize extra tricks were included inside. I just thought it would be the case and ideas. Extra tricks are just like a little bonus. Maybe I'd use some, maybe not. Makes this a tempting buy. Any of the tricks inside, I can always give to some young guy who's interested in starting magic. I'll keep this one in mind. Kevin

If you pick up a copy of the August issue of Genii, and look at the backside, there is an add for Fantasma Magic and the briefcase.
There you can see how it actually looks, and what is included in it.

Sounds like nice price for an ALumium gimmicked briefcase. I don't even know that there is gimmicks inside.
But I don't mind if it priced higher but designed with an elegant leather briefcase. I just bought one anyway. It is handy for my shows |

What we really need to see offered is an Executive Mentalist Briefcase

MentaThought,
Why not get together with some colleagues, do a little brainstorming, and develop a mentalist briefcase? You may end up with some great ideas and a marketable product. Just look at how many others on the Café have had an idea, worked at it, and are selling their tricks to others. Even if you don't, the exchange of ideas would certainly be a fun and exciting activity. Regards, Steve

Good thinking!
The only problem is that most mental gimmicks are quite small (except book test) and you can actually carry them with you without the need of a briefcase. I have my stealth assiasn wallet, outlaw cards, a mental power decka and a gimmick pen with me all the time. that's pretty much all I need. I think HP's Adv also mentioned that you can suspend the briefcase in mid-air with provided gimmick. Is it true, anyone?? |
