If you want to make it yourself for free.. well then good luck, because I hope you're willng to invest in everything it takes to make it. Why is it that everything you post is negative? You don't know anything about the product, you don't know anything about the costs of materials, you don't know anything about the length of production. Jonathan is an excellent magician but the levitation was not set properly and that's why it the video looks choppy. I talked to Darryl about this when I met him for the first time. He explained the unit has to be set right and in the demo it was way off. Then Darryl floated for me six times in the parking lot. It was the sweetest thing I have ever seen. I gladly handed him over my money and guess what? I did not have to ask anymore questions as the proof was in what I witnessed. Please to those who insist you know all about this levitation just stop. You have no idea? I was not in the financial position to buy this as I just spent over $4000 dollars in magic for a special I'm doing. It did not matter I saw the earning potential with this and found the money. It is worth every penny! Why you can do what it claims, just float. How many of you guys rather spend a hundered dollars and get the A.G.L. Yes it is an investment and man this is not for everyone it is aimed at the working pro. I have already made back my money to buy a couple of these with jobs. Today I had an audition and they like my magic but they thought what I was asking was expensive for them. I did the FLY and they freaked out. I told them I could charge more. They instantly agreeded to my terms. So lets wait till it is released by Darryl. This is an investment in your magic and some in the future will take it and never look back. magicmike30 Please lock this thread it has been requested. The You Tube video is not this levitation that is such a joke.

Can we end this thread now ?
The only F.L.Y. levitation available in the world just sold. So now there is no need for any further speculation and bashing from the Café members. I see some of the same people who bashed the Black Widow are already here bashing this, I guess they are hoping they may be right this time!?! - I promise you as I did with the Black Widow, it is a great effect for proffesional performers - this effect is not intended for children. Well...after The Black Widow, anything created by Darryl Vanamburg makes me jump in the wanna have line.
Darryl says it's still in development, so I think this thread is done until then. Chris

Looks fantastic and after the BW I trust Daryl. I would have a hard time paying that much though. DANG!

It may be worth the money due to the time, effort and the perfection of a effect. But from comsumer's view, it is far too expensive for 2-3 inch levi.
80% perfection is the optimal point for me (again its different for different people). After that, price and quality is parabolic and inproportional. |

That's a real magic shop?
Has anyone here ever ordered from that site? Would anyone order a $950 product from a site that looked like that? Rob PS. I've been doing the anti-grav levitation I purchased from that very reputable outlaw-effects site to tremendous response. Those guys sure came through for me! |

Magicmike,
The difference is that you actually saw what you were getting..not a choppy, half baked video on you-tube. For $950 dollars a "professional" performer is also going to want to see what he or she is getting. I'm glad the Black Widow came through for everyone who purchased it...this however is a new product at a new price! If this levitation is the end all be all, I would gladly pay $950...we are all looking for the holy grail of self levitations. Just give us a demo that shows how this $950 dollar version is different from the free Balducci or the other 100 self levitations on the market. We are trying to be smart shoppers..not jerks. Thanks Mike |

Italian Magic when you put it like that it makes sense. I just got a lot of pm's and hearing from the experts who know nothing about this is frustrating. The thing is this has not been released yet and will not be out for some time. With all the recent levi's I was just trying to give you guys a look into the future. Darryl makes solid magic period. To hear members cutting it up or saying I'm an infomercial is just crazy.
I'm just a working magi who wanted a practical, wicked levitation that I could use on my special. I met with Darryl and he saw my passion for magic and agreed to let me have this early. I understand the need to see a full proper levitation demo and when this is released you will. As for the price I spent more than the one off at KW and I don't know what the final price will be when it is released. Till then I will enjoy that there are only a couple of units out there for testing and I have a reputation maker. With the way some people are here it is a wonder the magician's bother to release their products at all. With the recent A.G.L. being a total mess I understand that we are cautious. Just remember this is Darryl Vanamburg a class act who cares. I really hope Darryl gets to busy with all his other products and never releases this. Im just selfish like that;) I want this all to myself. Thanks my fellow illusionists. Mike

I am sure when this ACTUALLY is released it will come in more than one size. Calm down and just wait until this product is actually for sell before just making stuff up.

What I don't understand is the judgemental thing some people get into about what a magic trick is or isn't worth. After all, the majority of the world does function on the free market principle, which means someone can sell something for a price they determine, and if the market judges it to not be worth that price, then it won't sell, period. Plenty of people pay $1,000 for a designer handbag that couldn't have cost more than $20 to manufacturer. If a product has a perceived or real value to someone equivalent to the price being asked by a manufacturer or merchant, than it's worth it to them. And sorry, but I agree with Mike - at least wait until the product is available before judging it.

I agree 100% with Jay. As I've said many times, something is worth no more or less than what someone's willing to pay.

Ditto!
I know this new levitation sounds really scrumptious, but why don't we just be a bit more patient and wait till Darryl's ready to release this product to the masses? The set that was recently sold was the one that slipped through the cracks as the guys previously explained Jay's made a good point too... some things are priced that way for a reason. Like branded handbags, I don't have any and never see the need to get one ever BUT I personally know many girls who do! To them, the price isn't an issue because they see & value its worth. But I'm the kind of girl who goes for what's functional. Different types of people make the world! Anyways... Icarus was pretty pricey too yes, and that's to make sure it stays away from the mere curious! So, if Darryl wishes to price his new levitation at whatever price he decides, who can tell him otherwise? It'd be great if he does his market research to streamline if he wants to target the niche maret or the masses, but if he wants to ride on his successful Black Widow branding, Darryl has the complete right to do this too and no one can blame him! Also, since Mike & Darryl have commented that the youtube links aren't the actual performance of the levitation (not done properly/ not F.L.Y/ etc.) we'll just have to wait to see the actual demo video Darryl comes up with once his new levitation is ready! Till then, yep, we'll just have to wait and see, yeah? Ning |

Having seen Darryl's levitation years ago, I must say I understand the pricing. It is really nice. Probably one of the cleanest I have seen. Although I would not buy this, I can see some going for it. Darryl's work is really well done.
And Darryl...it's a shame we never got to work together. |

I've ordered a number of items from Kind of Magic (including the Black Widow) and had terrific customer service. Phil was great and I would not hesitate to order from him again (and I'm sure I wil).
