Legendary Sesame Street puppeteer Jim Henson's son started a new comedy act--improv using puppets! Here in our country, the Philippines, I've started doing adult improv comedy using ventriloquism. My figure(s) and I do improv games--scenes, situations without scripts and just rely on audience's suggestions and input. I sometimes ask members of the audience to join us in some of the games. The acts are hilarious and unpredictable!

Have any of you, vent-magicians, tried this? And what's your experience with it?

Yes I love to combine improvisation both in games and in the middle of my act.

ABC game is fun.

That is where a topic is picked then a starting letter...

First sentence starts with say...M..next sentence must start with N... ect...

Topic...Libraries...

My wife sent me for a book on painting.
Now you go to the non fiction section
Ok
Please let me know if you need anything
Quality service, you offer...(now that sounded like Yoda)
Really nice of you to say..

Improvisation is risky and can really bring the show up or to a standstill.

This nearly normal guy learned to move on when needed....

Harris, when you do improv games using vent, do you use memebrs of the audience with you on stage?

I sometimes use a member of the audience in some games, like the ABC you mentioned. I thought it makes it more hilarious.

Ony Carcamo,

I haven't used them on stage with the vent improv.

I do use them onstage for other games.

Besides regular programs, I also do guest lectures at middle school drama classes.

Improvisation games are very popular with them.

If you have a tight script or outline to start, the improv can be a success. It is also possible that improv can be really boring, and you can loose an audience. If you have an opportunity to take a comedy improv class with someone who knows the ropes, it can be a tremendous help. Also, do your best to see a solid improv troupe like "Second City". You will learn a lot.
