This is interesting, I have both his books, and his magic is great.
Anyone have these DVD's yet?
Would love to see a review of them.

Rats... I told myself I don't need anymore dvd's or such... then John does this.
I saw him lecture a few times years ago, and it was great stuff then and still is.
I was at the lecture that was released on video and recently converted to dvd. I don't think anyone would be disappointed with this set from L&L.

Great News!

Among the many others, his Univeral Card is fabulous. Not difficult and slays them.

I assume these are brand new dvds, rather than rereleased versions of old vhs tapes. Whilst I don't doubt for one second John Mendoza's reputation, I find it strange that he doesn't seem to have a personal website or is even mentioned on any agency sites. Also I don't recall ever seeing any magazine aarticles or interviews on him. I'd love to know a bit more about his background, achievements......but I'll be ordering the dvds regardless !

John is one of the most creative minds in magic. I've been eyeing the L&L catalogs for sometime as they show pics of John performing/filming a new set of DVD's for them. And now they are here for us to be entertained by and learn from!!!!!

I think John should send me copies of the DVD to check out so I can review them. Make sure we don't have another antigrav levitation fiasco. Just kidding. Looking forward to the DVD's John. Been waiting for a while for these to hit the market.

Well, maybe L&L would consider just sending Mister Mendoza to our homes!

These are not re-makes from earlier Videos. They are new, recently filmed in the L&L Studio.

Theyre not re-makes but its the same material. I have all his previous videos and books and although the material on these dvds is covered on his previous releases I'll probably pick these up just to be complete.

I was at the taping of his videos, and I can tell you that the material presented was EXCELLENT! I can't wait to study the DVDs! They were filmed a couple years ago, so the wait has been excruciating!
I highly recommend them!

I just received my set and they are great. I've enjoyed John's work for a long time anyway. Great card stuff, some coin, 3 cup and balls routines, chop, and Benson bowl. Lot of great touches to Benson routine. He has JM's cups and balls, his take on the Vernon routine (using (I believe) engraved silver Sherwoods) and a very quick routine (seconds) that incorporates all cup and ball moves, then the climax. All of his classic card work.

Did you see the cideo clips on L&L's site? The audience loves John!

Wouldn't you love to see some world-class magic by some world class magicians? I'm always enthusiastic about it...I don't know about anyone else.

I used to have a Live in Boston video or some such. Am I the only one on earth who thinks that John's presentations and performing persona are the equivalent of dentistry without anesthesia?

Admittedly, John's presentation skills are not his forte. His effects are. IMO, when this is the case, I think it makes it easier for someone to adapt an effect to their own presentation style, because you will most likely be changing the presentation and not cloning it for your act (which is a good thing, right?).
