OK, I appreciate this isn't a new effect and there are lots of threads dedicated to Mathieu - but I can't find one that provides a review on Easy Twist. If it exists, please re-direct me. In the meantime, does anyone have this that could provide a review? It seems to take Hollingworth's "Waving the Aces" visual premise but the gaff does all the work. This is nice although from the clip the handling looks awkward and a fair bit of patter would be needed to cover this repeatedly, unless the set up could be achieved by an alternate method?
Anyone help? Is it worth the money...... Thanks James

Well, there you go, my first zero response. In some ways this answers the question re popularity!

I watched the demo of this and while the gimmick seems ingenious (I don't know what it is) the handling was a bit awkward.

I agree. Could be way off the mark here but the gimmick could be similar to Mason's 2wenty1, it could certainly be achieved with something like that. If the handling could be improved, specifically when spreading the cards, it would be worthy of further consideration.

This is very clever but takes a fair bit of practice to get it as smooth as Mathieu.

Thanks again for those who contributed.
I would like to give an update on this effect only, so let's be clear I am talking about this specific effect, not the MB collection. I recently bought this effect from a well-known auction site and I admit, paid a fraction of the price. Boy I'm pleased I did and it came with little wonder that the effect was unused and came in perfect condition. My disappointment cannot be overstated and my personal opinion on this effect is that it is far more convoluted than Guy's version, the very version - presumably - it is attempting to simplify. You are left dirtier than a coalminer and don't think for a moment that each change can be achieved with any less heat than it's far superior origin. I, personally am bitterly disappointed and accept that, once again, have been stung by marketing and a made-for-video clip that in no way represents life or business as usual. Those that know me are aware that I perform the original with certain twists and was in fact looking for that special something to add to it. This wasn't it and I recommend that you do not let curiosity get the better of you. Once again, this is my personal opinion and I am not going to debate the matter as I see it. Everyone is welcome to make up their own mind, I personally would have been greatful for this forewarning. Regards to all..... James

I didn't see your thread in time, but if you watch eBay, I had one in a good, bad, ugly lot several months ago and in the description I did mention that I thought it was silly because doing the gimmicked mechanical method was actually more difficult that doing Guy Hollingworth's original sleight-of-hand method! Yes, definitely, "Easy Twist" was a great misnomer.

Mathieu has some excellent effects, especially on his DVD but this isn't one of them. Not reliable in the way the gimmick works.

THis was a cumbersome nightmare. One of those "let me create something to sell" tricks.
