That sounds great! I cannot wait to see the additions. But to tell the truth, it is already a great routine with many ideas, and just playing with it get the juices flowing. It's hard to imagine anything topping what you already have.

Also just received my set of cards; excellent quality Vinny.
I will try the new handling during the weekend and will let you know my feedback.

For those of you who don't have them, let me fill you in on what you're missing: Vinny's cards for MindCast are beautiful. The images are very sharp and clear, they are much better than I could get from my color laser printer. These are a pleasure to work with. True pieces of art.

As an orginal purchaser of MindCast, I was pleased to automatically recieve the 2nd edition of MindCast as a matter of course via email. Truth be known I had in fact been given the honour of having been sent the manuscript of the second edition by Turk, prior to it's release, for preview and suggestions, but I was sworn to secrecy which of course I honoured. HOWEVER...now that it's been released? - I can talk about it!! Smile

The First Edition was, in my view, simple, yet effective, and I liked it straight away. Scott originally gave 4 presentation/revelation variations. The Second Edition of MindCast includes in it, an alternative methodology handling by "Turk" here on the Café - and all I can say is - where on earth does he think these things up?!

I already liked Scotts original (already with the four variations on handling) method, but, in my view, this new edition with Mike's method, takes the effect to a new level.

Mike's method is simple and direct, and with no unnessary moves, and is almost instantaneous in the performer's ability to ascertain the chosen symbol once the spectator verifies her chosen card. Mike's methodology is so easy to learn and use that it has instantly become my favoured method! It is a method which, once learned (and that takes all of a few minutes!) is in fact difficult to forget!

And, now knowing the spectator's actual chosen symbol, the perfomer can now confidently perform (practice or real) a contact muscle reading revelation if he chooses because, even if he FAILS in his contact muscle reading efforts, it doesn't matter, because he already knows the identity of the chosen symbol. Hence, the performer can practice contact muscle reading whenever he/she chooses. If he gets a "hit", great, if he doesn't get a "hit", it doesn't matter. He is able to just pretend that the contact muscle reading efforts were a success and can reveal the already known identity of the chosen symbol.

In other words, having this information, one can then PRACTICE muscle reading, (should one wish) or ANY OTHER revelation method for that matter, whilst still being sure of a successful outcome! The best of all worlds.

In fairness to Scott, the presentation possibilities were already many in the original MindCast - and were very well explained in his original edition, but I believe that Mike's method just takes an already wonderful effect to a new level. Thanks you Scott and thank you Mike!

Oh yes, and the cards purchased with the download? I completely agree with Tony - EXCELLENT quality! and AMAZINGLY fast delivery to the UK! Smile

Best.

Sounds really great . . pardon me for asking, am I right assuming that in the presentation the cards are only shown to the spectator one time?

Thanks

Love the sound of this Scott, sounds ideal to carry in the wallet at all times for 'impromptu' mentalism.

Wow, with this, the upcoming Decisions and my Stealth Assassin wallet, I won't need much else!

Many thanks,

Simon

Hi vinny! Smile

I hope I haven't kept you waiting too long! Smile

Quite apart from the fact that it is always nice to say hello, it gives me the chance to properly thank you again for the speed with which you got the cards out to me - I was well impressed!

I have been enjoying toying with them today whilst out at lunch with a couple of friends - dare I admit this I wonder - but they are already a mainstay of my handbag! *grin*

Scott - you are MOST welcome!

Best, as always,
ML x

I have Mindcast. A well thought out effect to be sure.

I was wondering where you all perform and what type of audience you perform Mindcast to?

I live here in South Florida. When I perform in the restaurants it's kids and seniors and my main venue is schools (educational programs!).

I do get hired quite often to perform close-up magic in corporate situations. I have been thinking about going in as a (mindreader?). Similar to the
Tarot card readers where they sit and a line forms. I would have a similar situation but instead of having one person at a time I would have small groups and perform items like Mindcast, Ascension, Sinister etc.

Does that sound like a viable performing situation for Mindcast?

Thanks,

John C.

John - Thank you for the post. I perform MindCast in corporate settings all the time with small groups. Just last night I performed in San Francisco for a group of about 30 people and combined the basic MindCast effect with a "reading" based on the chosen symbol. With the proper presentation, MindCast makes a great group effect. Be prepared, however, for individuals to come up to you after the primary performance and request their own "reading." - Scott

I have already stated my love for this effect earlier in the thread. The reason for my new post was in regards to the second edition I received. How cool is it that one day out of the blue, I get sent a second edition in my email, at no charge. I havent had a chance to perform the new handling, so I cant comment on that. I just wanted to say thank you for the updated material. That, combined with the personal help I have received from Scott through PMs, has made this one of my best purchases. Please don't hesitate to pick this up. Money well spent!
