This one I found fantastic as an after image, with closed eyes:
Einstein After image
Pick a distinct point in the middle of this image and stare at it for 30 seconds. Do not let your gaze waver. Now close your eyes for several seconds until an image forms.

At first, this one didn't work for me:
Shape from motion ...
Now I can change direction on command!!

Enjoy!

That is sooo cool. Talk about "brain freeze" with the first one.

I was also able to get the direction to change on the second one.

It takes me a few seconds to get the second one to change if I keep looking at it but if I close my eyes then 'expect' the cyclinder to be turning in a particualar direction then it will be when I open my eyes.

For me the cilinder hange directions everytime I close my eyes and reopen them. I can simply blink, and he changes direction. This doesn't happen if I cover it with my hand and then uncover it. And I cannot change the direction while staring at it: I have to close my eyes and reopen them, and it's going in the opposite direction.
Spooky.

I always thought about it in maths class, I made the cube go both ways and then the dark particle to go independently and then I started to read it, then I realized I had already done everything

I think I saw a different einstein when I closed my eyes lol

"Before the brain can begin to interpret visual input, light that is focused by the lens of the eye onto the retina must be converted to neural signals that can be relayed to the brain."

So true.

Thanx Jonathan for the "static motion illusion" info.

(pertaining to the cylinder illusion) I got it but after a few times of "changing the direction," my cylinder started to break into parts and each was spinning a different way than the one above it.

The cylinder is really neat, never saw that one before.

I can, with an effort, see it ias overlapping opaque cylinders going both ways.
