Does anyone have any lines or gags that can be used with silk effects?
I couldn't find anything in the search engine on this topic. Please, share your favorite lines pertaining to the use of silks and silk magic.

Well, I don't call them "silks", I call them hankies. I usually say that I'll use these "manly silk hankies".
If you do call them silks, say that you have this beautiful silk that your pet worm stayed up all night making. "My wife wonders what happens to her panties.....shoot, I can get 6 of these from one pair!! (holding up and 18" silk) Distasteful, and falls under the 'my wife is so big' category, but if that is your kind of thing.... Scott

Scott,
Do you remember the old skit about this that rodeo clowns used to kill air? Clown (EZ Pickins): Finally, I have a new girlfriend. Announcer: EZ, that is great! What is her name? Clown: Bureau Announcer: EZ, don't you mean Beulah? Clown: No! Her name is Bureau. Announcer: EZ, a bureau is something with big drawers. Clown: That's her! EZ |

That is funny...
I never call them silks to the audience. It's a magician term. I usually ask the kids what it is, and whatever they say...that's what they are. Come one, everyone. Add a silk related one-liner or gag.

Folks,
Never say never. There are plenty of times when referring to silk as silk is totally appropriate. * Silk worm to Butterfly routine * Ladies' only audiences love "silk" * Country Club and other events where audiences are well above blue-collar * Asian audiences and other audiences who make the distinction * Cut and restored (Who cares if you cut cotton? What is lost?) * As a setup in any routine where the "cover" doesn't really cover anything * Color changes, pattern changes, and printing - There is no mystery to changing the color of opaque cloth by reversing it. "Silk" adds to the mystery. If it doesn't match your tie and it isn't white, who is going to believe that the silk is your handkerchief? Those days are gone. (But, so is my Studebaker!) How do you make a hanky dance?
Put a little boogie in it! *rim-shot* :goof:

Barneyfife,
Next month, I think the theme there is silk magic. Show us your silk fountain routine. Bob Sanders Magic By Sander |
