The biggest problem most magicians have had with the Hot Rod is that it is very difficult to come up with an explanation of what the stick with pretty stones is. (Although, major kudos to the person who said it is what they use to help select gemstones at a jewlery store. That is the most sensible one yet) But for those of you who wanted an instant color change, I thought "It is the Prettiest Coffee Stirrer on the market" works when you dip it in the hot coffee to actuate the change. |

Thanks for the tip Michael. I just hope the bag of ice and pot of coffee will fit in my close up case.
David, thanks for the offer but as I stated, money was not the motivation for my posts. I truly feel the demo was misleading as were your early comments re: practicality for walk-around. As I stated, if you want to use this for a formal performance, it is a workable and creative product. I just wanted to point out the inherent limitations of the product for anyone who expects to be able to use this for walkaround. |

Hey, anyone who owns a Hot Rod Convertible and thinks it's a bad investment, just PM me. I'm looking for one and would be happy to buy it.

Hot Rod Convr.
May I ask what sort of temperature do you need for the change to take place ? Could you rub the rod beween the hands and make the change ? You don't want to dip this thing in someones (or your own) coffee. specially when you've handled the item many times. Not very hygienic I must say. |

Look at my posts under the Convetable thread.
Jeremy, glad you like it. But aren't' you the creator of the Animated Shoelace effect that David sells? |

My post was actually made in jest as I was just repeating suggestions from the creator, which range from dipping it in drinks to change the colors, to an insane (though he said he never tried it) suggestion to attach 2 wires to a nine volt battery and touch it to the hot rod. I would never dump anything in anyone's drink. Just poking fun at past suggestions on how to make it work without the use of flash string. |

Michael must have low BP then, becouse once I did and it turned from pale to bright red.
Maybe his got heat proof fingers very handy you know, he could do flames at fingertips without any gimmicks. May I borrow your fingers for my next gig Michael ?? |

Just to give some patter suggestion, I use a jewel store and a thief, and the thief gets in and decides he doesn't want the person who runs the store to go broke, so he roals a die, and decides not to steal the rubies. The next day, the jeweler came in and put all of his ruby items on display

Several people have nominated Hole in the Head as worst trick. Is that just because performance is limited to those who wear a certain item, or are there other problems with the effect?

Just my 2 cents, but I definately vote for AG as the worst trick... and certainly the worse pre-order!
But, I give him 5 Stars when it comes to advertising! Getting himself associated with a reputable magic dealer like Outlaw Effects was a smart move... and profitable! It taught me never to pre-order! |
